Why asks everyone for a dragonite of level 10 in the GTS?

I just noticed today, but for some reason, half of the Pokémon that are requested in the GTS are a Dragonite of level 1 to 10. Most of requesters are Japanese. Is their some give away or something?

IIRC you can get underlevelled Dragonite at Poni Gauntlet starting at level 10

I dont think give away pokemon can be traded anyways, right? I wasnt actually going to trade, but I wanted to see if I could WT my Magearna and Munchlax.

Most of them are just trolls though, looking to flood the gts with offers that will never be taken :p
This is one of the reasons the GTS is so broken.

If I'm interpreting this correctly, Dragonite as level 10 in sos is not a glitch, same for level 9-12 Salamence on Route 3. It's fully intentional, most likely as a "haha low level pseudo-legends" thing.

I do agree that they need more options though, so people have a way to get around the trolls.

3 Pokémon Generations later, and they still haven't implemented minimum levels for each Pokémon species? Though that would probably require too much work.

This is genius. By which I mean that the hardcore conspiracy theorists will probably take this as their answer.

Most are trolls, yeah. But when people ask for these things en masse, it's usually because of a giveaway elsewhere; Reddit has these all the time, with instructions on how to deposit what into the GTS with specs and everything. Haven't checked if the Dragonite are part of a recent one, though...

From GTS'ing a few Pokemon and by looking around, I feel like the most popular Pokemon that people want in the GTS are:

• Porygon2
• Porygon-Z
• Weavile
• Milotic

I think that's about it? Might be forgetting a few more but holy cow you can grab some really neat Pokemon if you have a spare Pory2 or Pory-Z sitting around that you're not planning to use. Or even a Weavile since it's high in demand because no one will spend the time to Thief a Razor Claw from a Jangmo-o.

I trade away Seadra with Scales, Rhydon with Protectors, Aegislash, and Silvally all the time. For Cosmog, no less, because I'm addicted to them and need to feed my addiction.

Basically, trade-evolving and shiny Pokémon are the hotcakes of the GTS.
