Why does paper beat rock?

   Jared Christopher     says:
EMILY would you prefer me to throw a paper ball at you, or a rock?
Emily says:
Rock

Emily is a non-conformist and no one likes what non-conformists think.
And ew, why would I want to hold on to that rock anyway?

Paper can be recycled. Unlike Rock. Let's save our environment and our ears : D

Rocks fall, everyone dies. I don't think paper can be used a weapon of mass destruction unless you're Yomiko Readman, but she's a fictional character anyway.

Grind the paper into dust and spread it all over the place. People breathe it in and get lung diseases and die :D
imho is subtler. Subtler is better.

Haha, this thread is epic.

I guess because Paper is smooth and rock is hard.
There is another reason, but it's highly racist, I didn't make it up though, my friend did.

Watch that mouth, those are my Mexican Ancestors got on the line there.

Paper is better than rock because it is. If we consider the forces being moved by 1N:

Scissors could cut paper
Rock could ruin the Scissor blade
Paper could cover rock

Especially true if the rock is hard, dense, and shiny. Remember there are different types of rocks.

Because obviously scissors can't cut through a rock, but you can wrap paper around a rock and if it was alive, it would run out of oxygen and die.

Yeah.

Exactly! After your post the thread should be locked because of posting a true answer. lol

Because the rock was cold. The paper is its blanket. DUH.

Because there's no such saying as "between paper and a hard place."

Paper wraps around the rock, enclosing it. The rock can't cut it or anything because it's enclosed.
The rock can simply hold the paper down, as a paperweight, so really it's an awkward game... but the supposed reason is that paper wraps around rock.

Why? It's simply because paper pwns all :P

EVERYONE knows that :P

Chicks dig paper, you can't exactly buy a flash car with a few pebbles can you?
