[Winter 2015] Death Parade

The last moment with Decim hugging them both was really touching though.

I seriously nearly cried when that happened. Especially the guy's story.

Spoiler: Spoilers for episode 4!
I didn't feel bad for Misaki at all, though. I would have if she didn't let fame get to her head. She was abused, yeah. She cared about her family, yeah. But as soon as she got a little taste of fame in one of those Jon & Kate Plus 8 shows(minus the Jon lmao), she started ignoring her kids and treating everyone around her horribly. It was really hard to feel bad for her, even after she reverted to acting like a mother figure instead of celebrity :/

Death Parade is amazing thus far. And I recommended everyone who is either watching it already or plans on watching it to go watch "Death Billiards" It's outstanding. It's the same length as a regular episode, but it's what they made before Death Parade. Feels just like a Death Parade episode. It's quite outstanding! It has some things in it that were featured in the newest Death Parade episode as well, which is interesting. (The roulette is the same changed one from the latest episode).

I loved every inch of this anime to bits. I watched Death Billiards immediately after the first and if I wasn't thoroughly hooked before, I already am. Each episode just offers something and gives us a few more answers while raising some. I love the latest episode; it provided some background into Quindecim.
Spoiler:

I think I'm going to be depressed after the twelve episodes. XD;; I love this anime too much for my own good.

Well... it's the original source for Death Parade so it obviously feels like Death Parade episode =)
Death Billiards was Anime Mirai project that got so much attention it got its own series, pretty good achievement I say.

Hey I did not know that, thanks for informing me! So a young new and inspiring animator made it and it was so successful it got it's own series? Good on him/her.

Every episode so far has been so intriguing that it hardly feels like 25 minutes have passed at all. The most interesting part has been seeing the weekly characters introduced and how your opinion of them changes with each new flashback until the end of the episode to see what happens to them.

Good to see the other arbiters will be featured next episode and DEATH TWISTER BABY

Gosh Death Twister was too much for me. Especially Ginti and Clavis. My sides ached throughout the episode; it sure was a nice filler.

If people thought Decim is cruel, Ginti was pretty harsh xD
Gosh, despite the life death seriousness of the game, this episode was just so fun to watch!
I was kinda sad that their elevator fates weren't decided, but I still enjoyed the lighthearted ending nevertheless.
Wasn't expecting the bathroom soap death, but the sister leaving a bomb for Harada... kinda going a bit far over the sister's death. I can understand she probably wanted to kill him for killing her sister... but a bomb?

Also Mayu in the opening?

Does it mean something since she's the only "player" in the OP (I think?) Ginti's future assistant or something?

Also dat ending

Klavis is fab

I think you might be right thinking Mayu will become Ginti's assistant - in that picture you posted it did show assistant -> assistant's Arbiter for Decim's half, and repeated said pattern for Ginti. So who knows? Mind you, they'd need a good reason for Mayu to become an assistant (which can't be the same as Decim's assistant because she lost her whole memory therefore she can't be judged?). I'd say it's a possibility she becomes an assistant, but needs some solid reasoning that I can't see at this juncture (other than Nona thinking Mayu could keep Ginti in line? lol)

Well she did die from a stupid slip of the soap. Maybe people there are sent with a reason, or well they have a reason they need to be judged against to be sent to the void or reincarnation and maybe they were people who had to die at that time. So maybe it wasn't her time yet to die and she wasn't meant to die from the soap accident. There's nothing much to look into to send her to the void or to reincarnation (Although even for that I would have sent her to reincarnation).

Of course, I could completely be wrong, but who knows? :p

Also since no elevator scene, what happened to Harada? Did he just get sent without us knowing or will he be sticking around too?

I really do hope so!
I was just looking at the preview for the next episode and there's a shot of Ginti standing by the departing railway:
Spoiler:
.
Of course it's all just complete speculation, but the possibility of sending Mayu to the place where Onna had her memory removed and getting her own memory removed to be come an assistant herself?

Just read the description about Episode 7. Looks like it's another episode similar to Episode 5 where it's more of a focus on Onna so no death game on the next episode from the looks of it.

Episode 7: Alcohol Poison

Kurokami no Onna, the dark hair woman always always came to the bar every night. She found a picture book after awakening from a dream in the Quindecim bar where she ask Decim about it where he was also puzzled about the book. He doesn't even know the book existed and cited that perhaps it belonged to the previous arbiter of the bar and they left it here. At the same time some friends visited; Quin from the information processing section and Nona. Quin immediately began to drink some sake with Nona joining in and asked about how Decim is going…

Spoiler: Episode 6 spoilers!
I love how Ginti's first game we see is... Twister xD; I really like his character so far, he's pretty freaking hilarious. He demands that people call his cat by her name, and he takes out a magazine while they're playing lmao.

I can't imagine either of them were sent to the Void. Mayu was 100% a good girl(just a little weird), and Harada was just a typical guy for his age. When his ex killed herself, he was extremely upset about it. He just didn't remember >w>...

I'm wondering if they'll be in the next episode though, since Mayu is in the OP and all... who knows.

I wonder why Episode 7 is titled "Alcohol Poison". Could it be a hint as to how Onna died?

Also Harada is so cute omg

Well, looks like they aren't going to squeal on why the assistants are there any time soon. Probably something to do with the limited staff though.

Anyone else feel like this show is going to get an automatic second season?

Spoiler:

Death Parade's getting a sequel would depend on how much content they have or plan to create. Considering that there's no distinct plot-driving force, it might just wrap itself up in the twelve episodes.

Spoiler: episode 6
Yeah, I think 12 will be the most Death Parade will get. Like Weiss said, it's only on episode 7, there's not a big huge plot that's keeping it going. Just the mystery as to why Quin is there and why she knew she was dead upon arrival.
