I really wanted to stay away from this thread as to not encourage more like it, however, I just wanted to say what I thought on the subject.

Wobbuffet gets Encore, which is an excellent move in itself, especially when the opponent lacks the ability to switch (Thanks to the nifty Shadow Tag). And then of course back to the ability to lock it into any move so that you don't have to predict which attack you might be doubling back at the opponent. So yeah, it belongs exactly where it's at.

Now that I think about it, Wobbufet can easily be brought down
by a Roserade. Sleep Powder + Leech Seed w/ Big Root and keep nailing
it with Sludge Bombs or Energy Balls. If the Wobbuffet stays asleep long
enough, it'll eventually go down, or you can just send up a Toxic once
you predict it's going to wake up.

Of course there are ways to take it down, however, you have to sacrifice a Pokemon to get Roserade in there. I mean, even this will take it down:

LOL, do you know how utter hell it was during the testing of it when D/P came out. O_O The game wasn't even fun anymore due to the blue blob. All you need is a Pursuit user and it.
EX:

Wobbuffet learns Tickle, which lowers Def and SpD... So:

All Wobbuffet has to do is come in on something like Skarmory that likes to set up Spikes, SR, etc.

Skarmory can't switch thanks to Shadow Tag, then Wobbuffet Encores Skarmory into using something like Stealth Rock

While Skarmory is setting up Stealth Rock continually over and over, Wobbuffet is using Tickle to lower Skarmory's Def and SpD to -6

Bring in a Pursuit user, and is like checkmate, even a Choice Band Tyranitar deals ~90% of its health when Skarmory switches out, and if it stays in, it has to deal with having to stay in ALL the time with -6 defenses ._.

Now, you just brought down one Pokemon without ANY problems whatsoever! =D

Now, its Ability Shadow Tag is what makes it so EVIL, it just Encores the foe, then can go from there. If the opponent hits Wobby physically, he will use Counter OHKOing him, and specially, Mirror Coat also OHKOing him either way around. I guaretees that ONE Pokemon ALWAYS goes down. Yeah, lets put Shed Shells on every one of our Pokemon to counter Wobby! =P

Yes, because I remember a thread about Wobbuffet(sp?) being Uber, and there was a link leading to somewhere that explains why it is considered Uber, which makes sense. You can use it at the Battle Frontier, because in-game characters aren't going to rip on you for using a Uber Pokémon. And it's also not banner there. :P

But using it over Wi-Fi is a whole other story.

Wobbufet is an uber, this Pokémon would devastate the whole metagame destroying the Choice Scarfer and increasing the number of Bug/Gosth/Dark present moves in the metagame.

OHKO moves are banned (If by that you mean stuff like Sheer Cold, Fissure etc).

I dont get why people bring up prediction with Wobby. That point is a moot and Encore makes it that way. Encore also makes it easy to get a 100% free set for another team mate combined with its ability, no other pokemon has the ability to grant that free of a set up, since you can simple switch out of any other pokemons encore, not wobby. There is a battle log with a Garchomp setting up on a Cress thanks to wobby. =/

You have 5 options in a battle, your 4 attack moves and switch. Wobby nulls this to just one attack with encore and shadow tag. Something which other trappers dont do (Duggy and Zone), you at least get your 4 moves. In addition Duggy and Zone are limited to what they trap, wobby traps everything.

Wobby is also probably the best revenge killer in the game too, send it into something locked into a choice move and you take down a poke for free.

Honestly a good wobby user will always at the very LEAST take one poke down, since he or she can send it in whenever they like and eliminate one of your pokes for free pretty much and thats not even mentioning the following 2 strategies : -

Jolly wob : - Lets see, this means what it says on the label. You give your wobby max speed thus makes every pokemon in the game under wobby's max speed (181) non-existant (which means most walls), which is pretty simple, you send it in on something that slow pokemon does aka stealth rock/Softboiled/Roost etc and then Encore it and proceed to drain that move of pp and struggle stall it to death ^____^, cheap and simple.

Tickle Wob : - Then there is also Tickle Wobby (event move) + CB Pursuit user. Again, send it in on something that is not a threat, Encore a move and then Tickle down the foe to -6 def and then you send in your Pursuit user and as the foe switches, Pursuit them as they switch out. Keep in mind that a CB Tyranitars for example, Pursuit does ~95% to standard skarmory who RESISTS the move, so i wish good luck to everything else lol. This strategy can be found here.

Also before people bring up moot points like "Its easy to ohko" (trust me, it alway seems to happen in these sort of threads) lolno, you could'nt be more wrong. Choice Band Tyranitar cant OHKO standard Wobby with Crunch (THE most powerful dark attack in ou, if not the game) nor can specs Gengar with Shadow Ball, which goes to show how much of a beating this thing can take.

The risk of an insertion in OU of Wobbufet (both on NBS that SB) he could cause of the cunning ones that sadistic strategies are invented type:
- Wobbuffet lead
- Wobbuffet + Dugtrio with Toxic + Magnezone
- Wobbuffet with Tickle + Pursuiter
- Wobbuffet + Wisher + Cleric
- Wobbuffet + SetUpping guy that

That is, Wobbuffet is without shade of doubtful Uber because:

- He cannot be OHKO because of the obese HP. Alone CBCross is able with Megahorn, that is a pokemon from 574 of attack and a movement from 360 basic power. Something type Explosion - _ -

- To have Wobbuffet against means to lose every choice user of the team. Therefore if the same CBCross uses Close Combat he is condemned

- Shadow Tag: thanks to the trait it is without counter. Therefore surely Wobbuffet will do at least a kill in the game...

- Encore: he would decidedly have been easier to use Wobbuffet as ground of setup if it didn't have this moves >_>

- Cheap: Contrarily of Dugtrio, this hard problem eternal. Certain people have not understood but the standard metagame he doesn't have the offensive power of that uber... Then if in the team there is also a wisher, he is a breakup of boxes
