Worst names you've ever heard?

A family that used to go to my parent's congregation has the last name Travieso. In Spanish, travieso translates into naughty, mischievous, or prankster.

I'm not sure if these are real names as in birth-certificate real, but give 'em a shot if you hate your kid. I mean, Lewis Black never lies, right?

****head (she-tay)
******* (e-sho-le)
abcde

I think ****head (Shi-theed) is legit. Or at least this video tells me it is.

For me it's Le-a ... pronounces Ledasha.. >_> lols..

OMG THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING TO POST! Shaniqua is pretty bad too, lmao. BUT HERE IS AN EPIC ONE

Shanéné

Pronounced... wait for it... SHA NAY NAY!

The "name" Nevaeh is bad enough (so trashy). But what is really stupid is that there's even crazier spellings of it. The worst was Navayah. which 17 girls in 2011 were named. Also, 22 girls were named Jamiracle. 14 girls were named Sacred, 7 girls were named Manhattan, and 5 girls were named British. XD

I found this on a list of names given to babies in 2011. It listed all the names given to 5 or more babies. And this was just the girls...

As for the boys, there were 8 boys named Sephiroth. Are the parents THAT obsessed with Final Fantasy? (I admit, I don't mind Aeris/Aerith, but Sephiroth sounds a little over-the-top.) Others include 34 boys named Champ, 15 boys named Priest, 8 boys named Triumph, 6 boys named Jakevious, and 5 boys named Gotti.

This trend is not even limited to names in English-speaking countries. In Japan, there is a category of names called "DQN names". It includes names considered laughable or even trashy in Japan. They are often embarrassing words used as names (like Wakiga, which means "body odor"), or even names imported from English spelled according to Japanese phonetics, like Anjierika (Angelica) or Renon (Lennon). Sometimes it's a name taken from pop culture - usually this means a name that is not widely used in Japan or specifically associated with a fictional character. For example, it's like if someone named their kid Inuyasha or Orochimaru. An example of a DQN name is Anaru. Guess where that comes from.

The website for DQN names is in Japanese, but they do have some of the names in Latin letters.

Only really first names and surnames together, but there's been a few names I've seen, mostly from a newspaper I read a few years ago. Here are some of them:

Edgar Berger
Robert Fagot
Dick Assman
Lark Song
Shanda Lear
Toasted Teacake

and how about this one I've just seen?
James Dr No From Russia with Love Goldfinger Thunderball You Only Live Twice On Her Majesty's Secret Service Diamonds Are Forever Live and Let Die The Man with the Golden Gun The Spy Who Loved Me Moonraker For Your Eyes Only Octopussy A View to a Kill The Living Daylights Licence to Kill Golden Eye Tomorrow Never Dies The World Is Not Enough Die Another Day Casino Royale Bond.

Yes, someone renamed themselves this.

Cosmo is kind of odd. Oh, and Blanket. Idk, there are loads. I think naming someone Jesus or Chris is also strangely humorous.

I meta woman whose name is Love. T:

Sometimes when an ethnic name is funny, I end up cracking up. I recently saw an online article mention a Nigerian woman named Bimbo. I burst out laughing when I read that. It's probably some African name, but I can only imagine how many people she's met laughing at her name (she had moved to England a few years ago).

There was another name that really made me laugh. Sh*taye, which is an Ethiopian name. (The * is actually an I. Stupid thing won't let me spell out the name.)

I don't know anyone with a particularly horrible name. I've heard stories from others of them but they were always second-hand.

Most unfortunate name I knew of was "Fanny", someone my dad knows. Won't say how because they'll come up on a google search but I felt terrible on her behalf when I heard the name. :P

How about Quvenzhane, after the Academy Award nominee? I mean, what kind of name is THAT?

As for Fanny, I actually named an elderly character in one of my stories Fanny. The joke is that she's very old-fashioned - for example, she's as prudish as Victorian England. (Fanny was a very common nickname for Frances in Victorian England, but after that it became less common because it became a slang term.)

I've heard of old women in Deep South states with names like Johnnie, Willie, Bennie, Jimmie, and Tommie. And usually they're not short for anything. Seriously, those look weird. (At least Willie could be excusable for a girl if it's short for Wilhelmina - there was a female Willie in the Indiana Jones movies who did that wiht her name.)

Yahuta and Hamza. I really haven't heard many weird names.

D'Washa and D'Drya. (Sp?)

Seriously. They exist. They were twin brothers at my high school. I wish I could make that up.

Mo'Nique. It's literally Monique, just adding more emphasis to it. That really isn't necessary, like at all =x

I agree with Erica on the name "Fanny", it's just very vulgar-looking to me and I hate it cos of how people compare it with a female genital.

Even worse, I hated it when someone named their daughter "Like", after the Facebook term. An example of the worst baby name ever.

Thanks. That makes me feel better, even if its not my name irl.
On topic, the worst name I've ever heard is this little two year old named Aero Smith. First name Aero, last name Smith. I feel so bad for him when he gets older. Also, there's the name _, pronounced underscore, trying to follow after hashtag. What moronic parents.
As last names go, the worst I've ever heard is Dickyman.... Not exactly the best name for this day and age.

How about Quvenzhane, after the Academy Award nominee? I mean, what kind of name is THAT?

I wouldn't say this is one of the worst names I've ever heard! It's a pretty cool name, and in Swahili Quvenzhane means "fairy"

Anyway, the worst one I ever heard was La-a like other people.

Actually, the WORST names I've ever heard are these kids I read about whose parents named them: Adolf Hitler Campbell, Joycelynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler. Those poor, poor kids. I'm glad they were taken away by child custody. :(((
