Worst Type Combination Ever

Bug/Fire is definitely one of the worst combinations a Pokémon can have. Sorry, Volcarona, you look majestic and have Quiver Dance and stuff, but this typing is the only one to get very super effective damage from Stealth Rock, get hurt by spikes, get slowed down by Sticky Web, and be poisoned by Toxic Spikes at the same time. Oh, if only if Volcarona had Levitate, the MOST LOGICAL CHOICE FOR AN ABILITY FOR VOLCARONA BECAUSE HYDREIGON HAS IT TOO.

Or atleast give him Mega Evo with its typing changed to Fire and Flying or just simply change its ablity to Levitate.

It's a tie between Bug/Grass, Grass/Psychic, Rock/Ground, Rock/Dark, Grass/Dark, Grass/Ice, and Rock/Ice. In-game wise, these types are extremely easy to kill due to their plethora of weaknesses and low special defense stats, so what makes you think the same will not occur in the metagame?

Gonna start a poll soon.I need only 4 Combinations for this poll. The combination with the most votes will be declared as the worst combination ever.Bug/Grass is already on my list so I need 4 for the poll.

I don't think that Rock/Ground is a bad typing.Adding Fire,Flying and Normal resistance makes Ground Types even more bulkier.

As for the worst combination I would go to Bug/Grass and Ice/Grass.Because Looking alone on the types that they are weak to is already pain for me.Plus the two notable Pokemon who have that combination(looks at Parasect and Abomasnow) have TERRIBLE STATS too.

I'd say the worst type combination is Bug/Flying. The only redeeming factor of the Bug type is its decent resistances, which Flying makes mostly superfluous. Offensively, there is some overlap as well. Between both types, you're only hitting Psychic, Dark, Grass, Bug, and Fighting super effectively. Furthermore, both types are commonly resisted.

The worst part is the movepool for each type. As a Bug/Flying type is unlikely to have Brave Bird, it either has to rely on Hurricane (something only Vivillon can pull off) or a weak move like Aerial Ace. Same for Bug, if you don't have Megahorn your options are fairly weak.

A Bug/Flying type needs A LOT of redeeming qualities to be useful, tbh. For example, Pinsir has strong Fighting/Ground type coverage, great stats, a very strong ability in Aerilate, but seeing as it rarely carries a bug move the typing is still entirely detrimental.

I think Bug/Flying just needs access to some stab moves like Sky Attack and some stat boosting and Supporting moves to make them more threatening. And a Bug that can learn Brave Bird might look stupid for me.

I think the reason why Bug/Flying-types can't learn Brave Bird or Sky Attack is mainly due to the moves being references to birds. Sky Attack's Japanese name happens to be "God Bird".

Thanks for the info man.

I think Bug/Flying will be effective if their ability is Aerilate. They'll gonna be dangerous as hell in the metagame.

Normal dark, dark fighting, ice rock ground rock... the list is long

I agree with timeruler on grass/bug that is just plain asking to be pecked by a bird or incinerated honest idk why but rock and ground types really annoy me anything that can get an easy 4x weakness especially when its by 2 different types like yesh your gonna lose.

The reason why Rock/Ground is a bad combination is because Water and Grass-types are heavily widespread and are very common, and it's likely a lot of Pokemon may carry a move of those types. Grass has a very widespread TM in Energy Ball in that it's got a good number of Pokemon that can use, notably a lot of Ghost and Psychic-types.
