Although I doubt I qualify as a "hardcore" Pokémon fan, I've loved the series since 1998. If I had more time and more money, I would definitely be able to own/experience more. Alas, I enjoy all that I have and the experiences this series has given me.
Here are some of the categories that would define me as a mega fan:
Video Games: I have almost all of the core video games (missing Leaf Green and recently Sword, Let's Go Pikachu, Brilliant Diamond, Scarlet). I've clocked at least 700 hours in Pearl and Y and at least 200 hours in multiple games. I have played spin-offs from the Mystery Dungeon, Ranch, and Snap series.
TCG: I have two binders filled with cards. I originally collected the cards in the 90s, but those binders are not accessible... I recently got back into collecting the SWSH/SV cards in 2021.
Merchandise: I have two Pokémon themed T-shirts. I have a one Squishmallow (Piplup) and one jumbo plushie (Mew). I have several "Sitting Cuties" plushies including Charizard, Blastoise, Lugia, Ho-oh, Latias, Darkrai, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, Whimsicott, Lilligant, Volcarona, Zekrom, Reshiram, Kyurem. I plan on picking up Venusaur, Mewtwo, Latios, and Cresselia when they are in stock just to complete the sets. For board games, I still have the "Pokémon Master Trainer" and "Pokémon Yahtzee" games that came out in the '90s. Can't think of other merchandise I've had besides the bouncy balls, Burger King golden cards, or various little figurines over the years.
Anime: I watched the first few seasons from Gen I through Gen IV. I haven't watched most past that. I used to have the original VHS tapes for the earlier episodes, though.
Manga: I've never purchased/read the manga.
Mobile apps: I've been playing Pokémon Go for several years. I played Pokémon Masters briefly. I've never played Pokémon Unite.
Tattoos: I've never had a tattoo, but I believe those that have any Pokémon-themed tattoo can consider themselves closer to being a hardcore fan than me. It's a permanent indication of your love for a series! I'm not quite at that level of love, plus tattoos are painful/expensive...
