Wow, that game was a lot better/worse than I remember...

I didn't think I liked the P/S split that much til I tried to replay Emerald some time ago. This is one of the reasons why the only way I'll revisit 3rd gen and below is via ROM hacks that implement that.

EDIT: oh yeah, limited bag storage in earlier gens sucked hard

RBY being slightly worse than I remember is my (probably predictable) answer. Still a fun game, but the horribly limited item storage and frequent bugs makes it a bit harder to enjoy nowadays.

And this might be a bit unpopular: I loved DPPt as a kid, played it to death.. but replaying BDSP now and exploring Sinnoh again in Platinum reminded me how plain the region is compared to others. I'll forever be biased to an extent since I love Pokémon regardless, but the region design is a bit boring and the wild encounters seem too repetitive (the latter mostly being a DP issue).

Which ones in particular? I mean, sure, R/B/Y are notorious for having tons of bugs but most of the time you really have to be looking for them. I've played through these games countless times and I don't remember encountering many bugs, certainly not major ones that would prevent me from enjoying the game. I could be wrong, but I think you probably can easily go through R/B/Y without encountering any bug if you don't want to (other than maybe a few minor bugs, if even that).

I agree on the item storage, though. The PC system is also a pain once you've played any game from gen 3 onwards.
