6th Gen X/Y Quick Q&A

So if I reset the clock to my real time I need to wait 24 - 48 hours?

That's how it worked on Gen 4 and 5 games. If you reset your clock all time based events are suspended, including berry growth daily events and such. The Mega Stone search is a Daily event as its a daily occurrence every day between 8 pm and 9 pm.

You just have to wait and time your chance. I manage to do it on chance and noticed it was 8 pm.

HELP!

Hi,

I'm playing the new X version, has only been a couple days.
I'm at the part before the voltage badge and my roller skates are acting up.
I know I need to run fast to make it past the rails, but for some reason when I point the circle pad left it goes slower that it should. It still moves in the right direction, but it just suddenly started kinda lagging. I can't make it over the rails now cause there's not enough speed.

Also, this is a virtually new DS so... You think the problem lies with the game or device? (I might be able to still return it for a new one)
As far as I know, I haven't gotten anything stuck in the pad. Don't know why it started acting up.
This is only for the left (sometimes down) directions.

If you mean you are in the desert, if the wind is blowing against you, you won't be able to cross the rail. I found that out on my Fairy Mono Run. The wind is too strong so you can't push through it. If you are on your bike you go slower than normal, if you are on your skates you go slower than you walk, if you run you go just a little faster than walking.

Its annoying but you have to wait for the wind to die down or change to a more favorable direction.

Ah, okay. I see. Wind.

I didn't even notice anything like that .___.
Well that makes sense now. Thank you!

quick question on breeding: Do destiny knot and power items overlap?
a.k.a.: given male pokemon has 12345 perfect stats and a Destiny Knot, and female has 123456 perfect stats and a Power Anklet, is it possible, altough rare, for the outcome to innherit stats 12345 from the destiny knot and speed stat from the Power Anklet?
I ask that because in my experience i got about 10 pokemon with 6 maxed ivs and all were obtained from a 5+6iv couple using D.Knot and Power Item on the missing stat (i still may think i just got extremely lucky on the last stat lol)

So if I reset the clock to my real time I need to wait 24 - 48 hours?

No. I tested this in desperation for Aggronite and forgot that my 3ds didn't update for Daylights Saving Time so I was an hour late. So I turned the time an hour back and the aggronite appeared in the Gym when I left and re-entered.

If I were to trade an egg away to someone in a different country and have them hatch it and send it back, would I be able to MM with that pokemon or would it somehow still be linked to my cart?

Nope, it will have different ot but the region is the eggs' region, always

So first game in three generations not to be effected by time changing for daily events? I wasn't going to try and haven't reset my clock an hour back because I was afraid of getting the lock.

The only thing that gets locked if you change your clock is stuff like the daily juices/sodas in Lumiose. I haven't checked, but berry growth, chateau writs, and the lottery might be affected as well. Time traveling doesn't affect mega stones and boutique stock. Access to game sync seems to be available once every few hours regardless of the games time.

I have a question: Does anyone know where the name rater is? :D

If you hover your curser on the map over a town, it will tell you the notable things there.

But the Name Rater is in Camphrier Town, Near the Daycare.

If I were to trade an egg away to someone in a different country and have them hatch it and send it back, would I be able to MM with that pokemon or would it somehow still be linked to my cart?

Wtf? You can trade EGGS?

How does that happen? Can you do it through Wonder Trade?

Hex is the only move I know that does increased damage if the target has a status infliction.

Venoshock and Venom Drench are the only two moves that deal with Targeted Poisoned Pokemon.

I think there is one that deals more damage to sleeping Pokemon and removes the sleep as well.

Hex to my knowledge is the only one that doesn't specifically state a status infliction.

Thanks! Unfortunately, Growlithe can't learn Hex.

I'm going to research if my moveset will work with Ninetales, since Vulpix can learn Hex.

Bummer, though, since Arcanine's stats are so much better than Ninetales.

You've always been able to trade Eggs. Since Gen 2 you could trade an egg to another player and they can hatch them. Its very popular right now with Shiny Value hatching so that you can guarantee hatching a Shiny Pokemon.

No it doesn't wok with Wonder Trade or GTS. They have to be actual Pokemon to Wonder Trade or trade though GTS.

[Beginner's doubt] Moveset

Hi Guys.
I'm new in pokemon and i would like to know about the movesets.
I already thow that stats like Attack and Special Atack determine the damage of a move.
But i wanna know: What stats determines moves like Fire Punch and Thunder Punch? And moves like Gust and others Flying-type moves.
Thx 4 the help,
Cya.

Struggling to get my Pokemon to breed

First of all sorry if this has already been asked, also again sorry for not posting in the FAQ my questions don't get answered there.
I'm on mobile and the search thread thing is busted, keeps closing down when I type a letter in.

Ok, my issue is my Japanese Tyrogue, it refused to breed with ANYTHING!! It always prefers playing with other pokemon. Not even Ditto. Any advice?

Attack stat determines the power of your physical moves, and strength of your special moves is determined by Special Attack. Fire Punch and ThunderPunch are physical; Gust is special. If you want to know what moves go into what category, search "attackdex" on Google and visit the first result. :)

Also, I'm merging your thread with X/Y Quick Q&A.

Merged.

What's the best way to train a modest SHINY MAMOSWINE?
What stays do I train?

It's a baby Pokemon. Baby Pokemon can't breed. You'll have to evolve Tyrogue into one of the Hitmons before even trying to breed it.

Edit: Greninja'd

@Above question: Modest is a terrible nature for Mamoswine because it wastes away its excellent Attack. You have to go Adamant or Jolly and use 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe.

Hey guy. I was just wondering if the max amount of perfect IVs a single Pokemon can have is five, or if they can have all six perfect IVs. If the answer is five, then does special attack count as an stat that can have perfect IVs?
