I feel that there are some good possibilities of them to tie ORAS in, considering that they take place in a different timeline than RSE, or something along the lines. Depending on how they execute, I believe it could all make sense.
Before the new series poster was published I was certain we're gonna get a prequel/s. The main indicator was a NPC in XY game saying that in the past there was another evil team (Besides Team Flare) looking for something in the Kalos region. But as for now, since Team Flare was shown in the upcoming XYZ series, I find it hard to believe a prequel is due to be released.
I cant really doubt Z is coming with all the Zygarde news and stuff but i gotta say im Psyched hopefully its a new adventure instead of being like platinum where its just a different twist
A third version is not worth my money, not spending a dime that has the price of XY (or more).
The another deciding factor is post-game content (I don't mean post game plot like Looker or Delta Episode). If it sucks, then no.
But I have to say it again, we're most likely getting something like XY/ORAS -- nothing to do after the post game plot.
i don't remember see that npc, where is it at?Before the new series poster was published I was certain we're gonna get a prequel/s. Maybe theyll finally realize their mistakes? Just gotta hope its something like bw2 new characters maybe we get a new dex? That would make up for a game with no post story
Most likely Volcanion as it's weird to leave out Volcanion's number and proceed on with new Pokémon. A Gen 6.5 isn't likely to happen since these/this title(s) are/is the final Gen VI core game(s) of the generation -- They'll receive another backlash for extending Gen VI.You're right, an ordinary 3rd version game would be disappointing.
But what about the new Pokemon they are about to reveal? You think it's a new species or just Volcanion ?.. It could shed us some light regarding the next game (The one I'm 80 % sure will be a 3rd version ).
They did speak about a group looking for a legend around Anistar. The climax could've been an isolated event. Also Green/Blue could appear as he was in Kalos prior to XY which would be fitting for the 20th anniversary imo.Prequels wouldn't even make sense in the first place. No doubt the third game will pack an intriguing story with huge events. If the game were to be a prequel, the people of Kalos should have spoken about those events that happened x amount of years ago. Prequels wouldn't make any sense to X and Y.
The shortest gap between main game releases was FrLg and Emerald and it was shorter than 9 months so there it's possible. I imagine a February release for "Z" and a Holiday 2016 release for Gen 7 myself (it's better than a fall release which is what Emerald got compared to FrLg's Spring release irc). Interestingly RS and FrLg also had a game free year between them in Japan much like ORAS and "Z" seem to be going for.Gen 7 on fall 2016? That sounds great to me, but won't it be really soon? I mean, Ωr αS are still considered new games (sold the same price as they were on their first day of release where I live). If we DO get gen 7 on fall, shouldn't we have gotten the game we're expecting in July? I think Gen 7 is coming our way early or late 2017, related to whether there's another remake on its way or not.
Because if the game is announced this week at the event it is supposed to be announced or even at next month's corocoro, with a release date of february (the earliest I can imagine), GameFreak would certainly give their new product some love for at least 9 months, and thus further promote it. After those 9 months, here comes November for the Corocoro leaks and the situation that we're in right now and then comes an announcement. And voila, here'2017. If the new game ends up a remake, then we know that gen 7 is on its way and almost complete, and we\ll have news after 6-7 months or so (and here's end 2017, start 2018). If the new game ends up being gen 7, no need to wait at all, here is 2017.
So, yeah.. Fall 2016 seems rather unlikely for gen 7 to appear UNLESS we are getting a crazy ass remake like next month and everything gets even more preplexed than it already is :P
(Meanwhile, Gen 7 is what I'm expecting the most, only second to Kanto remakes which is most unlikely to happen anytime soon)
I'm not really sure about a 2016 release for Gen 7... I could be wrong, but to me it's almost rushing things a little bit when it comes to transitioning between Generations. A short release period between games within the same Generation makes sense(FRLG and Emerald), but between the last Gen 6 game and the first Gen 7 game seems a bit much. Then there's also the whole thing about the NX that we have to look at too. IIRC, they're supposed to reveal the first details of the NX at E3 2016 next summer. There's the option that they could release Gen 7 on the 3DS, but then where would they go with the rest of Gen 7 when the NX would be on the horizon by then?
When is the next main event that has a chance of the new game/s announcement ?
Gen VII could be on the 3DS or N3DS. We aren't even sure what the NX is yet. Even if the NX is or is at least half portable console there is a similar situation in the history of Pokémon. Gen V came out when the 3DS was on the horizon too and came merely a year after HgSs even though there was a year long break between Gens for Gen II-III, Gen III-IV and the last time there wasn't a year long break was with Yellow and GS. Though people did feel that Gen V was rushed, but there was no helping it, GF started on BW around the same time they were working on Pt and HgSs. Sugimori and Masuda have hinted that work on Gen VII already begun when asked about it (Sugimori said he wants to return to simplicity, and Masuda said he had big ideas for the future of the series). The DS was already being rolled out prior to Gen III ending, while the GBC is an updated GB with color (GS are playable in the original GB). Unless Nintendo had the NX planned prior to OrAs then chances are low for Gen VII being on it.I'm not really sure about a 2016 release for Gen 7...
