I know most everyone will have read most of this stuff somewhere else before, but I'm bored and feel like putting my own impressions down somewhere.
Still in the mood for HG-blogging, I got my Lapras yesterday! Which also means I beat Cainwood Gym! With this, I'll also take a moment to mention the changes to the Gyms, thus far. Having only beaten 5 so far, I can say that I like what they changed about the interiors of them. In particular, Cainwood City Gym probably had the best overhaul of the 5 I've participated in.
I don't think I mentioned this before, but I really liked the layout of the menu; having it on the bottom screen was probably one of the better moves, though it is still accessible via pressing the X button, and the fact that you no longer have to hold the B button for the Running Shoes was probably the best enhancement of an old feature ever!
You can set two items for quick access, too; one set to the Y button, as per DPPt standards, but you can also set a second item to the touch screen, for easy access. It'll show up just above the Running Shoes and is probably best used for items such as the Itemfinder, Berry Planter and Apricorn Case.
Speaking of which, the Itemfinder is such an amazing piece of equipment, now! I love how they implemented it into the game. I personally think its far better than the Poketch App. of DPPt, mostly for ease of access, but also because of its presentation. Sure, you had loads of features on the Poketch, but it suffered from application-finding issues, since even with Platinum's two-button version, you still had to scroll through the different Apps. to find the one you wanted, where a little menu would have been far better.
I honestly don't really have much more to say now, until I get a bit further in the game. Next Gym is Jasmine, but first, I think its high time I did a little training!
I'm kinda juggling 7 Pokemon, so... XD;;
