I'm sure you've dueled at least once.

So attention duelists! My hair is asking you what was your first duel and how did it go?

    -----------------

Five years ago (10) I decided to check out YGO. So I asked this one nerdy kid to duel me, and he allowed me to choose one of his decks (structure decks). I picked something with Dragons.

We began with 4000, since it was recess.

I was raped. He pretty much destroyed me as I summoned Blue Eyes he simply used Magic Cylinder when I tried to do a direct attack, and I ultimately lost.

Also it was over in 6 turns, pretty pathetic.

What are you talking about? I've never dueled before in my life!

My first duel was against my good friend, as we had spent the last two weeks buolding our decks passionately because of the show (we were in love with it at first sight). So, I remember exactly how it played out, mostly because I owned his sorry... Ok anyways, here we go.

So first turn, he sends out a monster, and my turn I send a monster and attack, destroyign his monster. Next turn he sets a view cards, and leaves himself wide open. I heavy storm his backrow and and play another monster, attacking with both. Then, he draws a monster and puts it into defense mode. No set cards. I draw, and tribute my two monsters for a monster that pierced (I forget which) and attack, killing off the defense monster and dealing direct damage. And the next turn after his (he set one card), I attacked, getting Magic Cylinder'ed. After that, he summoned a monster in defense mode (face-down), to which I killed off after summoning another monster. I then attacked directly for the win.

We had no theme, btw. :3

My Yugi deck versus my sister's Kaiba deck.
That's right, the very first decks and cards ever released. I'm an oldtimer. ^_^
Also I destroyed her cause she didn't really understand what was going on. <_<

Mine would of been against my brother. We bought I think like 2 booster packs each from the milk bar across the road from our Grams, and we couldn't wait to get a full deck each haha.

    I lost > :

Mine was in like 04' I remember my Mum buying me my first booster box 8D And my brother taught me, Me and one of my friends dueled in the park (He cheated so many times xD) but was caught out because my brother was a veteran player <; I still won though.

If I remember it was an E-Hero deck. :D

I built my deck from four or so Dark Revelation Volume 1 packs. As a result my deck was packed full of stuff like Gravekeeper's Spy and Gravekeeper's Guard and Shadowknight Archfiend and Dark Jeroid and so on. I pulled a Pandemonium and I was like "cool Imma build chess archfiends". : s

First duel was against a guy with a Zombie deck. I won off my Dark Jeroid and Shadowknight Archfiend (seriously, wat) beating his biggest monster, Ryu Kokki, and he had basically no resistance after that.

My very first duel was in 2004 against some kid at school who I found out happened to have quite a collection of Yu-gi-Oh cards, almost identical to myself. I already brough my deck to school, and what was funny back then is that we sorta.. didn't play by the rules: Our decks were definately over 40 cards and were more like 100 and sometimes one of us would twist the rules just a little bit.

So yeah, my deck was actually very strong but so was his, plus the kid I was deuling had a bigger brother who was even better. So anyway, I decided to send out my Blue Eyes White Dragon, by sacraficing early in the game. He sent out his Red Eyes Black Dragon and basically I destroyed it but then on his trune he used Changed Of Heart to control me Dragon as use it against me, resulting in me losing more life points than him. By the way if you're wondering how many life points we used, it was 8000 because it was at lunchtime. So I was actually losing at this point when he mentioned something about a Yu-Gi-Oh club thing, which I found pretty wierd, but anway he also said that I had to beat him to be accepted into it and that there were 3 stages/ranks like the anime. Scyther Red, Obelisk Blue and Ra Yellow. I was intrested at that point and I dunno but it made me even more determined to beat this kid since he was so boastful.

So then, I decided to use my monster reborn and bring back my Blue Eyes White Dragon to the field and use it to attack his life points directly. Someone, I can't quite remember, further on in the battle he summoned Cyber headed dragon with three heads and attacked my Blue Eyes White Dragon but lucklily for me I used a trap card that negated it's attack and reverted it to 0 for that turn. Then on I just kept using my Ookazi's and my Blue Eyes White dragon to crush him, and put the upsmart back in his place. After that, a couple of weeks later I was the best out of the "club/group", I even bet the grade 5/6's of my school. Mind you, I was only in Grade 4.

Now, I hardly ever use them. They just sit in 5 shoes boxes doing nothing but gathering dust and making homes for who-knows what. :\ But occansionaly I get them out and sort them out and it brings back memories. And oh'boy by the time I left Primary School I had some very strong monsters and cards. The three egyptian gods and all of the Exodia parts. Not to mention what a kid called them "The three god's demons" and it's magic/spell card.

    Ah, I remember it well.

My Yugi Starter deck against my kindergarten friend and his Pegasus Starter deck. I summoned Dark Magician on my first turn (we were going by the first season anime rules - no tributes required), and he used Dark Hole, I think it was, before blasting my life points to bits with Ryu Ran. He blasted through all my defence monsters till I drew my counterfeit Exodia card with infinity attack points and was about to win. A sudden gust of wind blew away most of my deck and I only ever found about half of it, so he kinda won by default.

I found the Yugi deck the other day and realised the entire thing was counterfeit. -_-

mine was versus blackwings with a basic starter deck, i did surprisingly well but still lost after about 15 turns

    The first duel, I lost.

I complained that my friend's deck was better, and that we should exchange decks (I suggested this so I could win ^^), but I lost to my own deck. -_-

My God. It was a long LONG time ago!

I must have been 13 I think and I must have been using the Kaiba deck I think. I can't remember what the outcome of the duel was or what happened though! XD

In 2010, on my Birthday, when my friend bought me a starter deck, and so I dueled, and did really well, although I still lost xD (it was a starter deck, after all)

Back when I was twelve (2003), I dueled against my best friend, after he showed to me what Yu-Gi-Oh is, and pursuaded me to buy a Starter Deck+Booster Pack. I lost, but we both weren't familliar with the official rules xd

I was at my buddy's place; he'd just ripped a Mirror Force and I was trying to get it off of him (I'd failed), and there was this guy who was playing some convoluted deck that involved using Catapult Turtle to kill you under the "show rules" (2000 LP, no tributes, no direct attacks, etc.). He got something like Black Skull Dragon out, boosted its ATK, then shot it at me to kill me.

    It was so bad...hahaha.

It was right after Metal Raiders, the second set ever printed, had been released, though...so the state of the game from a casual perspective was absolutely terrible lmao.

This, except I owned both decks.
