Be it winning a real life tourney, getting a Shiny legendary, or something else, what's your greatest achievement in the Pokémon games?

I've completed the Alola Dex and the Gen VII National Dex (except a few Mythicals) in the same day. The former wasn't very rewarding, though. :P

Actually sticking with the franchise from start to present day seems like a pretty big achievement to me at this point, to be honest.

All the nonsense Pokemon has put me through over the years is horrifying. With the anime going in circles and having more filler than probably even Naruto - which had the grace to end after 720 episodes, whereas this is damn near 1000 now and won't stop for that - some games being outright terrible - 3rd, 5th, and 7th generation - the astronomical cost and quantity of the merchandise, Nintendo refusing to put old games on the eShop, just the designs of some of the Pokemon...this franchise throws so much crap at me; far more than I would take from practically any other franchise I've ever taken an interest in.

I've dropped games for far less than what Pokemon has done to piss me off - hell, I DID drop Pokemon Sun, because it finally pushed just a little too hard...and yet I still have plans to play Pokemon Moon somewhen when I've cooled down a bit and built up my patience, and if there's another game you can bet I'll buy it at launch and play it. As long as they keep making them, you can bet I'll keep buying them. It doesn't matter if I know I won't enjoy it, I'll still purchase and consume, purchase and consume, like a mindless automaton. Literally nothing changes with this franchise, and nothing has changed in my approach to it.

It'd be no small exaggeration to say I have come to really dislike Pokemon, as a franchise. And I still keep buying the games. And occasionally watching the anime. And generally taking an active interest in it even though I have absolutely no reason to and no idea why I still do. It irritates me far more than it does please me now, but I STILL keep coming back. I can't let it go. It's got its claws well and truly in, and the weirdest thing is that, despite my excessive whining and complaining, I don't care. I KNOW it's terrible, but some twisted, masochistic part of me still gets some form of enjoyment out of this mess.

That it can keep my attention like this, and that I've stuck with it this long, is definitely an achievement. Although I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, and I'm not sure who it's an achievement for - me or the franchise. Either way...

I think I once completed the national pokédex in Gen IV. Event legendaries and everything. That was on Platinum, sadly at one point I had to trade all my pokémon to someone on here as I only had one DS - they did a runner. But still, that was a monster achievement for me - a lot of trading, collecting everything possible from LeafGreen, Emerald, Diamond and Platinum, and a lot of grinding.

I've also done 6/7 facilities in the Emerald Battle Frontier as well. Battle Factory is one hell of a struggle, I just didn't have the patience for the Palace.

I honestly don't know. I would say my Nuzlocke career, but long story short, the challenge that I was ready to have become my best work in any game to date and be the prime representation of everything I had done in that time...instead became a complete disaster at the worst possible time. :'( And that ruined everything I had done prior.

So without that going for me, I guess I would have to say having completed the Pokédex multiple times, including Platinum, White 2, X and Omega Ruby. I haven't got around to doing the National Pokédex in Sun yet, but if I knew how many I had proper that'd be significantly easier.

Probably completing the Hoenn Dex in Emerald, with the exception of Jirachi and Deoxys to obtain a Johto starter from Birch. It's the only time I've ever completed a Pokedex and I don't know if I ever will in the future, considering how there was no online trading and stuff, I feel like this has to be my biggest achievement in Pokemon :)

Encountering random shinies is probably my biggest achievement in Pokémon. I've only ever encountered two or three (which were totally unintentional) in my whole time of playing, and in 19 years that's pretty rewarding to me!

Same reasons as Blue over there, random shinies. In all the Pokemon games I played, I have caught what is a total of 17 combined shinies over several games.

B2/W2 and Platinum still remains my only notable games where I didn't ever get a random encounter shiny. X is my record, with 7 shinies on the one game, and another interesting fact was that I had caught shiny Graveler on two occasions - Diamond and Soul Silver.

Moon marks my earliest caught random shiny as far as the period of a generation era is concerned, with my shiny Gumshoos being caught only five days after 7th Gen's official start (November 18th, 2016), but I did have my copy for four days (I got my copy of Moon on November 19th) at the time she was caught.

I've beaten the Battle Frontier, encounter & breed many shines, and participated in competitive play but the most satisfying & accomplishing thing is always beating the Champion. That will forever be the biggest accomplishment you can achieve in the games in my pov.
