Tell here about your favorite book.

Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. He is (well, was) a genius and this book is just purely amazing.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, as well. Just like Vonnegut, the book is amazing and got me into reading books like them.

It has to be The Outsiders. I can't believe how much I loved that book. If you've already seen the movie, but not the book just know that the movie was a terrible portrayal of the book.

    A few other honorable mentions...
    ~ 1984
~ The Perks of being a Wallflower

    Well, I'll presume non-religious so...

My favorite book (Series) has got to be the Inheritance(Eragon) series. Very well written, IMO.

Coming in a close second is a tie between Percy Jackson(Greek Mythology FTW) and Ember(New look on post-apocalyptic stories).

    Well of course,
Books are fantastic for enteratining all ages, from young to old to in between books will take everyone to a world unlike our own, where we feel anxious, excited, nervous, sad, joyfull and happy.
My favourite book of all time was a series - created by the one and only J.K Rowling,
Aha.. you guessed it Harry Potter!
This book is great for all ages,
With magic and spells and monsters and catses and dragons, who wouldn't want to read this exciting adventure story of a young boy Harry Potter who's parents are murdered by the most powerful and evil wizards of all time - Voldemort!- or also known as Tom Riddle as repeatedly tried to kill harry but the luck and light was always on Harry's side even if it was not that obvious at a ceratin point of time in the book.
Harry encounters many deadly and dangerous challenges throught his long and fantasticly risky snd dangerous journey to finally finish Voldermort...
Does Harry suceed, or does darkness rule the world once again?

I read too much to have just one favorite. For something thoughtful I'd read Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder, but any of his books would do. For something humorous I'd go with a Terry Pratchett novel, probably The Fifth Elephant, and If I want to disturb myself out I'll go with a Neil Gaiman book.

For me a book has to have has great language to be my favorite. For whatever reason I find that the best things I've read in English come from translations. Two of my favorites, Banana Yoshimoto and Antoine de Saint Exupéry, write so beautifully it's amazing to think I'm reading "mere" translations. Vladimir Nabokov, another favorite, spoke several languages fluently. I think English sounds better with a touch of the foreign.

At the moment I'd have to say my favorite is Wind, Sand and Stars (Terre des hommes), Saint Exupéry's dreamy memoir about crashing in the Sahara Desert, which, even though it's translated from French, has some of the best writing in the English language I've ever read. It's the kind of book I could read again and again and again just to soak up the language and imagery.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is probably my favourite book of all time. It was the first book that I really remember thinking "how much time has passed?" when I looked up from it. And during the scene at the jailhouse, I actually felt that I was there, alongside Atticus and Scout, watching the crowd. It was a very powerful feeling I haven't really felt since with any other book.

    Runners-up:

Deciper, by Stel Pavlou. My first real "adult" book (no not a porn book lol XD). I love The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, but this is so much better. His next book, Gene, wasn't as good, but it was still brilliantly written and researched.
    ● The Mortal Engines series, by Philip Reeve. Sooo imaginative and steam-punkish and brilliant.
Rose Madder, by Stephen King. My first King book, which made me fall in love with his writing. :3
Going Postal & The Bromeliad, by Terry Pratchett. Forget Harry Potter and Twilight, every child on the planet should read The Bromeliad (which comprises of Truckers, Diggers and Wings). It's simply stunning how Mister Pratchett writes his characters and gets his points across, all with a gentle sarcastic and ironic tone that can sometimes have you in tears from laughter or sadness. (:

    • We Free Men - Terry Prattchet
    • A Hat Full Of Sky - Terry Prattchet
    • Wintersmith - Terry Prattchet
    • Exquisite Corpse - Poppy Z.Brite

Haven't noticed? I love Terry Prattchet. He's such a good author.

I really like the Eragon series, aswell as Of Mice & Men and The Outsiders

my favroite book? hmm this is a toughy it would proabably be John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men that story at the end made me cry, secondly would be followed by roal dahls sorry if i didnt spell his name right Fantastic Mr fox that was great and thirdly would be the northern lights

Twilight No need to worry; I'm joking.

My favourite book... Well. Where to start? There are so many good books out there.

I haven't had time to read the entire story as yet, but I've loved The Aeneid; the epic poem written by Virgil. It's... Great. Full of mystery and mysticality, action and adventure, as well as romance and friendship. I've mostly read Book... Six, I believe, where Aeneas is in the Underworld. The imagery is sublime. It's really an amazing read.
Homer's Odyssey is much like it. I haven't read much of The Odyssey as yet though. Only the Cyclops scene because I'm studying it for my Ancient Greek GCSE.

The Roman Mysteries, a series of books written by Caroline Lawrence, follows the lives of four children living in Roman Italy. It's really detailed and fun, but with a fantastic mix of comedy, romance, drama and tragedy.

There are plenty more books out there for me to read, such as Ovid's Metamorphoses, that I can't wait to read. Until then, I'm happy to continue reading these books. There are plenty of other books I absolutely adore, but these are the ones that spring to mind as my favourites.

    The Outsiders - S. E. Hinton
Possibly the most moving, and entertaining book i've ever read. The endless symbolism and character and relationship development (or notable lack of). I'd rather not spoil the story, but it is genius. Too bad the movie ruined such iconic moments with bad music and rushed dialogue.

Probably The Fellowship of the Ring. It has a strong sentimental value for me.

Among other books I love are
Animal Farm by George Orwell & Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse.

I'm a lazy reader. The last book I thoroughly enjoyed was Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs, but I'll have to go with what I grew up reading:

    Spoiler:

    Nicholas Spark's 'A Walk to Remember' ♥

    Too sad to explain...
