Suppose you have been selected as a Gym Leader in one of the Gyms. You are at the liberty to choose which pokemon type your Gym would be. Which type would you choose? Which pokemon would you choose for your team of 6 pokemon?

I would probably be a Dark type gym leader as the 8th leader to be faced.
    My team would be:
Spiritomb [Ability: Infiltrator] - Payback, Hypnosis, Pain Split, Dream Eater
Umbreon [Ability: Synchronize] (Sitrus Berry) - Toxic, Payback, Curse, Protect
Bisharp [Ability: Inner Focus] (Quick Claw)- Psycho Cut, Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, Payback
Sableye [Ability: Prankster] (Focus Sash) - Will-o-Wisp, Fake Out, Recover, Disable
Scrafty [Ability: Intimidate] (Assault Vest)- Fake Out, Gunk Shot, Dragon Dance, Payback
TM rewarded would most likely be Payback. My Bulky Bois!

I've always thought I'd be Dark or Ghost! I mostly considered Dark since there wasn't a single Dark gym leader until Gen 8, but Ghost is probably more accurate. I'll do teams for both, though!

    Dark
Umbreon - Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse, Moonlight, and Psychic
Zoroark - Snarl, Night Slash, Retaliate, Protect
Absol - Slash, Swords Dance, Future Sight, Perish Song
Mightyena - Crunch, Yawn, Play Rough, Payback
Houndoom - Beat up, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Embargo
Thievul - Parting Shot, Fake Tears, Assurance, Acrobatics

    Honorable Mentions: Liepard, Honchkrow
    Reward: Snarl TM, Nightshade Badge
Gym Description: It looks like a dark cobblestone street just barely lit by fire lantern streetlights. You can walk straight on through, but no one will be there until you veer off into the dark alleyways and fight the trainers.

    Ghost
Mismagius - Phantom Force, Power Gem, Rain Dance, Thunder
Polteageist - Memento, Wonder Room, Shadow Ball, Giga Drain
Cursola - Hex, Curse, Will-O-Wisp, Brine
Banette (Mega) - Toxic, Hidden Power (Fighting), Shadow Claw, Dazzling Gleam
Froslass - Draining Kiss, Aurora Veil, Blizzard, Avalanche
Gourgeist - Trick or Treat, Leech Seed, Shadow Ball, Brutal Swing

    Honorable Mentions: Chandelure, Drifblim
Reward: Shadow Ball TM, Wisteria Badge
Gym Description: The gym is a soft grass lawn with a wisteria archway. Going through, you are asked questions and are given small insights based on it. Depending on the insight, you fight one of two trainers per question: attack and special attack, defense and special defense, and speed and hp. That's a lil half-baked but that's the idea.

I was thinking rematch teams for this... During the main story I feel pretty comfortable saying I'd be the sixth gym leader!

    This.
I think I said Electric last time. I'll still stick with that.
Why? I just like electric types so much and there's such a variety of them, even with mixed types. Electric/ground, electric/water etc.

Team: Alona Raichu; Jolteon, Stunfisk, heliolisk, Rotom, Ampharos.

I don't wanna be limited in what type Pokemon I can choose. I'm more interested in specializing in a certain stat. I'll be the Attack-centric Gym Leader (since hitting hard is the only strat I know how to pull off in game).

Mega Heracross, Archeops, Gyarados, Darmanitan, Salamence or something similar.

For me, it'd be a Water-type gym run by me, as a Coordinator. There'd be an enormous, gorgeous, natural-looking pool at the back, with a few stone platforms.

The challenge takes place on three similar stages sequentially scattered around the gym. A trio of my assistants would work there, and you'd have to outperform all of them in matches judged by a random person I bring in every day. You don't have to change into a water outfit, but it's recommended. I would even keep them at the gym! (I'll take a free day every once in a while, then contact different people and make a schedule.)

    First Employee's Team:
    Barbaracle (M)
    Floatzel (F)
    Kingler (F)

    Second Employee's Team:
    Carracosta (M)
    Golisopod (M)
    Toxapex (F)

    Third Employee's Team:
    Azumarill (F)
    Lanturn (M)
    Corsola (M)

    Gym Leader's Team:
    Mega Swampert (F)
    Primarina (F)
    Milotic (F)
    Lumineon (M)
    Swanna (F)

I'd probably go with a dragon-type gym and use"

    Dragapult
    Kommo-o
    Duraludon (for fairy/ice/dragon)
    Garchomp
    Dragalge (for fairy types)
    Kingdra

I tried to set up this team to limit 4x type weaknesses (fairy for Kommo-o, ice for Garchomp, and ice for Kingdra with freeze-dry)

I would do rock, and my gym would be night time themed.

    Pokemon:
    Minior
    Kabutops
    Tyranitar
    Lunatone
    Lycanroc (midnight)

I would do either Dragon or Dark. I like both of these types, but it's hard for me to decide which I should choose lol.

I'd be a Grass-Type Gym and probably get wrecked by everyone.

    Pokemon would be:
    Decidueye
    Venasaur
    Ferrothorn
    Kartana
    Whimsicott
    Rotom-Mow

    Squirtlenator

I would be the leader of a water type gym in a remote fishing village. Trainers would have to pass at least one of two trials before they would be permitted to battle for my badge. The first trial would be a surfing race in the ocean. The second would be a water gun target accuracy trial where mons would have to hit various targets with water gun. If the trainer was successful and beat me in at least one of these trials then they would be permitted to battle me for my badge.

My team of six would comprise of:

    Pelipper (Peeko)
    Swampert (Bayou Brawler)
    Kingdra (Poseidon)
    Mantine (Depth charge)
    Toxapex (Crown-of-Thorns)
    Vaporeon (Mipha)

First Person to choose flying at least we have a lot of types in here! In my ideal gym, I would be the 8th gym leader and there would be two restrictions, 2 hyper potions allowed only, when you go to your bag, 2 hyper potions are the only things that would show up! The second restriction, when the battle starts, your style gets put to set instead of switch 😈 Pokemon listed is the order they would come out.

    Emolga-Static-Focus Sash
    Double Team
    Nuzzle
    Agility
    Baton Pass

    Talonflame-Galewings-Leftovers
    Bulk Up
    Roost
    Brave Bird
    Flare Blitz

    Hawlucha-Unburden-Flying Gem
    Flying Press
    Poison Jab
    Fire Punch
    Thunder Punch

    Dragonite-Multiscale-Weakness Policy
    Dragon Dance
    Extremespeed
    Dragon Claw
    Earthquake

    Corviknight-Pressure-Rocky Helmet
    Iron Defense
    Roost
    Body Press
    Iron Head

    Gyarados-Moxie-Lum Berry
    Dragon Dance
    Substitute
    Waterfall
    Earthquake

The match starts with Emolga trying to status and baton pass double team + agility into a bulky Talonflame with Bulk Up, Roost, and Leftovers. Hawlucha comes out next on the, assumedly, rock type you used to beat Talonflame and is just here to get off damage fast. Next is Dragonite, turn one, DD because it lives anything besides a crit Ice Beam, pretty much. Emolga will either Baton Pass into Talonflame or Dragonite depending on who matches up better with the Pokemon currently in. Corviknight comes out late to be tanky and Pressure stall because your Pokemon are probably pretty weak by this point and DD, Sub, Moxie Gyarados to come finish off the game!

I want this matchup to be really hard, having to earn your way into the elite four instead of coasting in like we do nowadays. If this gym is entirely under my control, there is also a level 60 cap and all of my mons are 55-59 with Gyarados being level 60 as my ace (if you bring in overleveled Pokemon, they just get set to level 60). You are rewarded with either Roost or Brave Bird and you have to beat me again if you want the other TM.

The gym would be in a forest and it would be a zip-line maze with 3 unavoidable and 2 option trainers.

Unavoidable trainer 1: Swellow, Tropius, Pelipper
Unavoidable trainer 2: Noctowl, Xatu, Crobat (Birdkeeper Roni)
Unavoidable trainer 3: Dodrio, Pidgeot, Charizard
Optional trainer 1: Emolga, Sigilyph, Swoobat
Optional trainer 2: Togekiss, Drifblim, Staraptor

Maybe I'll make sets for these too eventually.
