    What are you going to name yourself and your Rival?

    [my real name] for my name
    And for my Rival, I haven't decided yet cuz she's a girl, but my buds and I have a tradition of a...colorful variety of names. I'll decide later.

    Hmm I havent thought of that......My name will probubly be [Real name] and my rival's name will be my teacher's name.

    The Rival you are naming is the fugly boy with the blond hair who shouts swear words every time he bumps into you.

    Anyways, I named my guy the first three letters of my real name, which I'm not telling (X-D) and I named my Rival HIRO. Yeah, I'm really weird.

    Ha ha.

    If you didn't know, I believe HIRO is the name of the original boy hero in Gold/Silver.
     
    Aren't there two rivals? The blond one and the opposite-gender version of your character.
     
    I just will choose the standard English name that was given for my name,For the rival whatever name thats's appears in the screen.

    But that has been the tradition throughout the series, so I think it's pretty safe to assume so.
     
    to be honest, ill do what i usually do, call my player (who will be a girl) lauren, my girlfriends name and call the rival ollie (my name)

    pretty sad, but the girl sprites are cuter :P (and i've always played a girl since crystal version)
     
    well, i think i'll keep with my actual gender this time and keep with my tradition poke trainer name: SAMSO, since i'll engage in WiFi activities.

    i say "actual" cus well...XD since ruby i started to notice that girl trainers seemed luckier for some reason. i tested this theory out, and with using 6 different pokemon, it seemed that with attacks, my girl trainer was 12% luckier. why? i don't know, but my consistent female name is SAMRI XDD.

    i think i'll name my rival my sister's name. that'll send her a message.
     
    My name well my name lol but i do i grammaticaly by having capitals an dlower it looks wierd to begin with but then it looks cool
     
    I'll probably call myself either Matt, Kai, Shadow, Kaiba, Seto or maybe Matt11 for Wifi purposes...

    My rival will probably be called someones name that I don't like or some ugly name...
     
    I'll probably name my character Faolan, for no real reason except that I like the sound of it, and I used to roleplay a character called that. And my rival? Akamai. No real reason there either..
     
    you should name the rival a dumb name because the boy looks dumb. :-P

    I've named myself "Cartman" (based on Eric Cartman) many times in the poemon games, but seeing how many ppl might also use that name, i'll just call myself by my real name :/

    In the Japanese version, there is only 5 characters you can use, and 7 for the English version.

    I don't know the Pokemon nickname characters though, but that doesn't mean anything for this thread.

    I know this because my name is exactly 6 characters, and I can only write ****R, and V*****_ (*=spaces I use, _= leftover space) in every game I play Pokemon with. It's really easy to memorize once you play almost every game.

    Most of my Pokemon game files are named 'Drew'...so I'll probably stick with that... Or just use my RL nickname, Fuu.

    As for my rival...I dunno...I might just leave it 'Diamond' or something. xD

    ...Pokemon's on....must go watch. xp
