I dunno about you but I see a connection there. Make swampert's sprite a darker shade of blue and it's belly a bit of a weird sky-blue-ish color and it'll look exactly like it. o_o; Croagunk...i wouldn't say it looks as much as Gamageroge as much as Swampert does, to be honest. I DONT SEE ANYTHING THERE OTHER THAN JUST A SWAMPERT COPY OKAY ;__;

It's just the facial position in my opinion, they both have the same sorta faces. Swampert is muuuch larger too. :(

I think you're just trying to see something that isn't there, either that or I'm... missing the really obvious. If you just pointed the sprites another way or something, they'd look completely different and you wouldn't see this connection. XD

I am shocked & appalled by your comments madam. Croagunk & Politoed are awesome. Politoed may not have an equal this gen, but Croagunk & Zuruggu are distant cousins. Recognize gurlfriend!

Nonono, Zuruggu is a lot more awesome than Croagunk. It's completely different colours and cuter faces and... actually, I don't think Zuruggu has anything in common with any past Pokemon I can think of.

In agreement. Zuruggu looks like Croagunk because of their teeth and the fact that Fighting is their secondary typing. In the anime, they are owned by the main characters (Brock for Croagunk and Ash for Zuruggu).

This I disagree with. Other than the "teeth" part, Zuruggu looks almost nothing like Croagunk at all, but that's just me.

I...can't really make that much of a connection between the two and if that were true, Dento should've owned Zuruggu instead of Ash, so it could be a complete paralell.

I did notice that some of the B/W Pokemon do relate to DPPt's slightly, but I can't really explain why. Oh and Johto's. Yeah, I'd say B/W = A combination of Johto x Sinnoh Pokemon, in terms of um, designs.

You forgot to mention they both have abilities relating to skin.
Craogunk = Dry Skin / Zuruggu = Shed Skin.

I'm not saying they're one in the same, but there are similarities between the two. Kinda like Klink & Magnemite.

Other than looks, I don't see a relationship between Blitzle and Girafarig.

Other than the starters and legendaries, I can make comparisons of certain Pokemon to previous generations (warning: long list):

Tamagetake line = Paras and Shroomish lines (mushrooms), and to a lesser extent, Voltorb line (they look like Poke Balls)

I am pretty certain that Ishuzumai and Iwaperasu are the ones made to replace/be similar to Paras and Parasect. They are both some sort of crab thing, Paras/Parasect only grow muchrooms on their backs.

Tamagetake line are made to replace Voltorb line for sure. Why else for the pokeball designs?

But all your other match ups make sense :]

Is it funny that I just realized that those things are warts?

I don't see the resemblance either, it seems more like they both happen to be the same type so that's why you think they look the same. When really they don't.

The only thing I can see is that they're both amphibians...but that still doesn't mean they look the same.

Swampert looks like a very strange deformed fish and the toad is just... a toad. XD;

I don't understand the hate towards Mr. Warts though.. I think he's kinda pretty color wise.

To be honest, I think I'm warming up to Yabaguron (The trubbish or something xD) after seeing it in the anime. I'm not liking the look of it's evolution though. x(

If there's one I have to choose that I really like, it's got to be either Doredia, Burungeru or the other one, you know, Baibanira. Doredia looks absolutely beautiful (no homo) and it also get's Butterfly Dance, which is always nice, Burungeru is like a huge improvement on Tentacruel, and has two very specific gender looks, although I do only like the Male Burungeru, and Baibanira is an ice cream. There is no way in hell that you could be hating on an ice cream, unless you're lac tose intolorent, then go for it. :P

Design-wise my favourite few 5th generation Pokemon (and I do mean few. I really don't think a lot of the 5th Gen Pokemon I've seen so far are too out of the ordinary.) are these:

Reshiram (not just design wise but because it's accompanied with two of my favourite types, Dragon and Fire)
Victini (because it reminds me of Veemon...don't tell anyone I said that. :nervous:)
Cofagrigus (finally, another Ghost type Pokemon I can use for my own self likings)
Gothitelle (good thing I'm getting Black)
Shandera (purple flames...*drool*)

Aaaand that's pretty much it for my favourites. The only few Pokemon that I have a hatred for this gen is the Vanipeti family...ice cream, agh.

Personal Favorite:

I've always loved dark type Pokemon and I was a big Zoroark fan right from the day it was first revealed. It's in game animated sprite is pretty sick too.

I find this Pokemon and its entire evolutionary line unappealing. The only thing I like about them is the blue. xD Otherwise, they all look really dumb. And they don't even have good stats or a decent moveset to compensate for their looks either. >_>
