I've never found a shiny in my many runs through FR and LG. It's not really worth it. Maybe in DPPt, things are different. But I wouldn't know. I only play on Shoddy.

I have always used Chikorita in Crystal and Shiny Gold. But I would be more interested in Bulbasaur. Because of Sleep Powder.
