So, when something cool comes out (like a new movie or game), or you can get something (like 16 and driver's license) do you jump at the chance, or wait a while to get it?

I'm 19 and I don't have a drivers license!!! I don't think I've been in the drivers seat of a car for more than 10 minutes and I wasn't even driving!!! Just lying down and reading Les Mis while my mom was at a supermarket, lol. I'm too afraid to drive, because I think I'll kill someone and yeah, I don't want to drive until I think I can get past my fear of being responsible for someone's death while behind the wheel.

I usually try get things as soon as I can, but it's not for bragging rights or whatever. I've never had an interest in obtaining things just so I can show them off to whoever will listen, I just get things when I have the money/interest in getting them. Such as video games! I haven't bought a game in over a year, and I really need to get off my ass and get AC Revelations and III, lol. But I just don't have the money for trivialities such as that when most of my money goes towards supporting my family.

When something cool comes out, I get it straight away if I want it (unless it's between October 1 and December 25, which is my black out period where I don't buy myself anything so that people have things to get me for my birthday and Christmas... otherwise I'm just too hard to buy for lol).

When I can get something like my driver's license, though, I can never be bothered with it and always wait. To use a driver's license as an example, I only got my learner's permit because they were about to change the law to say that I had to do 120 hours of learning instead of 50 so I wanted to get in before the cut-off. Also I've been eligible to upgrade from my provisional to my unrestricted license since July, but I only just got it last Thursday, three days before my license expired lol

If it's something like a video game, I'll try to get it on release day if possible so I can start enjoying it as soon as possible. It depends with other things though. I don't have a driver's license and may never get one because I may not be able to drive safely.

I'm 20 and can not learn to drive due to health reasons which I don't feel like telling in a public forum.

lf it is a Movie I'd rather wait because of how busy the movies would be, A video game it would dephend on what series it is.

Something like a video game, I usually procrastinate getting. Maybe I can get it cheaper that way. If not, doesn't hurt to wait.

I'm one of those people that tends to wait a few months (or years) until I get this cool stuff. In terms of life stuff like driver's license, car, moving out, etc...those didn't come to me until later on in life.

Electronics-wise as well as shopping-wise, I wait a few months because I don't want to be the "early adopter" of things. I like getting the cool stuff for cheap. :P

Things like drinking on your 21st birthday...yeah. Those are punctual. :P

Nope. I have a big backlog of things I think I might get, but haven't gotten around to. Books, movies, music, games, and so on. It's because I have a backlog of things I already have that I need to get through (like all these books and movies I'm borrowing).

I'm also cheap about spending money most of the time.

Jump at it when I can, but hold back when I can't.

Typically I wait. Mostly because I'm a bit broke, so I don't want to spend money on stuff I don't see as necessity. If it's not ABSOLUTE NECESSITY (read: Pokemon games) I can hold off until I'm completely able to get what I want. I'm a patient person. :3

If I can, I do. If I can't, I tend to put it off... for a long amount of time xD... or if I'm nervous, I force myself to impulse it, and do it without thinking about it xD Mainly I put stuff off xD

It honestly depends on the thing in question. There are some films that I'll want to see as soon as they come out; others I can wait a few weeks. The same goes for TV shows. Music, however, I'm never normally waiting for: I catch up with music in binges throughout the year, so am always slightly behind on that one, but it doesn't massively bother me. In terms of non-entertainment related pursuits, I played the Lottery once when I was 16 (i.e. the legal age in the UK to purchase a ticket) but have never done so again; I got my provisional driving licence as soon as I turned 17 but didn't pass my test until a week before my 18th birthday; I didn't really start drinking until I was well into my 20s so... I guess I'm culturally flaky when it comes to punctuality in these sorts of things. Punctuality in general, however, I'm ridiculously good at. Like, anally good at, it's embarrassing.

Really depends on what it is and how much money I have available at the time. Though usually I watch a movie within a week after being released, while I almost never buy games when they come out. (I rarely buy a game)

As for my driver's license... I think that's gonna have to wait for a while. XD Got more important things to do with my cash atm.

If, say, a new movie comes out which I & my family really want to see, then we'll probably go to the cinema (or buy it on DVD) - but as for 16 & drivers licenses? I'll get it when I'm ready to. Though I should probably to get it soon-ish 'cause I'll need it when I go off to uni..

If it's something like a video game, I'll try to get it on release day if possible so I can start enjoying it as soon as possible. It depends with other things though. I don't have a driver's license and may never get one because I may not be able to drive safely.

Fully agreed with this. I try to get the new Pokemon games or other ones like Assassin's Creed 3 on release if I can manage it but things such as driving are an enormous responsibility and I think it is perfectly ok to not drive until you are ready to take on that responsibility.
