  • Not to make this all about me, but...
    Spoiler:

Yes: it's a horrible picture of me. No: I don't care. As you'll see from the 'out-takes' below, it was definitely the best of a bad bunch of photographs. (Seriously, it only took one practice run for each of Lightning and Morkula!)

Anyhoo, here's me and - SURPRISE! - Patchisou Yutohru. If anyone had Lightning, Morkula and Patchisou Yutohru in their office pools of who I was going to meet on my trip, then consider yourself extremely good guessers. Or a stalker of my social media. One of the two.

As Nick has described oh so eloquently in his own blog on this subject, we met at a Panera Bread in New Jersey, then proceeded to spend an often-unusual-but-never-boring four-and-a-bit hours around the area. Visiting two malls, a cemetery, one previous residence of Nick, one current residence of Nick, a Sears, an Auntie Annie's (which was sort of garlic bread-y in a good way), a Rita's Italian Ice (which was nice but way too much for me), numerous water fountains and finally a bus stop that seemed harder to get to than it probably should have, the experience was very pragmatic and probably nothing like either of us imagined it to be, but I wouldn't have traded it for anything.* And no, TwilightBlade, we didn't talk about Pokeymanz, unfortunately. We did talk about PC a bit, but only a lil' bit.

So... yeah. That about does it for meeting people from PC. At least on this trip. (Any NYC-ers around tomorrow are more than welcome to come and see me, if they so wish.) On the whole, I guess I'd say that if you want to do it, make sure you know the other person reasonably well, meet in a public place (to prevent rape-age/murdering), have a vague idea of what you want to do, and just have fun. Unless you're an expert in meeting internet peeps *coughLightningcough* it'll be surreal and slightly awkward at first; provided that you both can at least form a conversation about ANYTHING, however, you'll end up settling into a nice groove and have a good time.

On Wednesday I leave for Japan, which is going to be awesome. Have a good one, peeps. :D

*Well, that's not true. But let's keep this positive, people!

Oh, and below are the 'out-takes'. Have fun laughing at how I can't apparently take a photograph with an iPhone with two people in it. Dear Nicholas had to take the final product:

I should have deleted those pictures when I had the chance like my instinct told me because they're really bad pictures of me with derp faces. It only took me one try with the photo, though, so. :DD

I think you'll all be pleased to know that I shaved it off. Now I get to wait three months for it to grow back.
