  • Guys, it is finally here! V0.0.9 Alpha, let's go!

    Here is the changelog:
    Spoiler:

p.s. You don't need to redownload the launcher as it auto-updates the game (unless if you didn't redownload the launcher a week ago)

This is for the people who have downloaded the Launcher for PBBR. Please re-download and replace the launcher files as there are some new fixes made. (p.s. you don't need to delete the Pokemon Brick Bronze (Reborn) folder and the Version.txt file, unless if you want to re-download the whole game again.)

Hi. Can you also give a normal link to the game with all files because the launcher is asking to download .net core ?

  • Hey DarrylBD99 are you Malaysian?

    Yes, I am a Malaysian.

how many gym in this beta?

Correction, it is technically Alpha... but there are currently 2 gyms.

and can you make it where you can got a charmander in the sand place.. ( i forgot what route is it or what name is it)

You mean Route 11, Aredia City, Desert Catacombs (the area filled with Unowns) or Old Aredia (the ruin next to Aredia City)? Now for the question, most likely I am not gonna make Charmander obtainable. I have already planned out the method to receive more than one starter Pokemon (including the ones with hidden abilities).

and can you put all the event like where you release a mew in the underground place and you can get it in the wild?

I wanted this game to have most of the elements from the original PBB, so yes I will add that!

    Thanks For Answering!

You're welcome. If there is any other questions about the game, you can ask me!

Oh Cool! and for your question yes in desert cacatombs. But Is there going to be Team Esclipse or you going to make whole new different evil team? Becuase it will be cool if you think some new ideas for evil team? Maybe change a little bit of the storyline, but no need to do that if you dont want to do it!

Team Eclipse has already been in this game. However, I am planning to hopefully make another region, consisting of another evil team with a whole new story. Not only that, I really wanted to add side quests so that even after beating the game, the is still lots more to do except for shiny hunting and completing the pokedex. Also, there are some changes that differs between the original PBB and PBBR. One of it was that (spoiler alert)

I highly suggest making a discord server, I'm going to try out the game now. I loved Pokemon Brick Bronze a few years ago and would love to see different events like the shiny eevee event in this game.

Firstly, I am working on a discord server. Just give me some time, this is the first time I have ever done something like this before! Secondly, (just so you know) some of these events (e.g. the shiny eevee event) I have already planned to be permanent.

That's amazing, although I do have a suggestion, a shop where you can buy the tms that costed bp in the real game, as well as the ability to buy additional starters for a non outrageous price of Pokedollars. Also, take your time, I understand making a fan game this amazing is really difficult

Oh hey, this is epic! I didn't know this existed. I remember playing PBBR from Seedonator and being sad that it stopped development. Now this exists! What point in the story does it go up to currently?

To fix that, go to graphics, and then find the battlebacks folder, then copy and paste any one of the battlebacks, and name it "Lab"
Also, this game currently goes up to the second gym.

Yay, it worked! Thanks. That should probably be fixed next update. I'm gonna play through the game now and then ask what questions I have sometime later.

Alright, I've played through the entire game so far now. I have to say, it's really well done. There are a few sprites that look a little basic and some grammar issues here and there, but for the most part it's really good. I like the 2nd Gym puzzle, especially. I was also really caught off guard by what happened in Mt. Igneous, which I like. The gyms were pretty tricky, I barely beat the first one, and for the second one I actually lost and had to change my strategy. I know the teams are just copied over from Brick Bronze, but I really like having a challenge like that. I do have some questions, though, as well as a couple things to point out. These questions are mostly aimed at the developer, but anyone who knows any answers can respond.

    1. Since there's not going to be trading, how will we get the remaining 20 starters and all of the trade evolutions?

    2. I noticed there were some encounters different from the Wiki, like Grubbin in Gale Forest. I was wondering, what are all of the different/new encounters compared to the original PBB?

    3. How will we get the different game passes, like the Ability Charm and such? Will it be by filling out the Pokedex, similar to the official games?

    4. Which generation mechanics does this use? Like for the movesets and ability changes and etc.

    5. Is the Porygon encounter in the game? I couldn't find any way to encounter it in the Silvent Pokemon Center.

    6. Since there's no Battle Colosseum, how will we access things like the items exclusive to the BP shop or the move deleter/reminder?

    7. I saw something about the level cap being raised to 20 while browsing through the posts here, but my Pokemon reached over that. What's the new level cap, if there is one?

    8. What's the best place to exp train? I assume it's the same as it was when PBB was in this stage of the game, the Hiker in Mt. Igneous, but I decided to ask this on the off chance there's a different one or something.

    9. Do all of the wild Pokemon have the items they held in PBB? Like Pikachu with the 3% Light Ball and etc. If so, do the abilities Compound Eyes and Frisk work?

Sorry for the large amount of questions lol. Also, a small thing, I noticed the trainer class in the 2nd gym was still "Bouncer" which is for the 1st gym, when the Wiki has it as "Pyro" for the 2nd. That's all I have to say for now, thanks for creating this amazing PBB revival!

Also, there's this weird bug where Caterpie and Metapod keep not evolving. I brought Caterpie to level 9 from level 5, and then it didn't evolve. It did when I brought it to level 10, though. Now I've brought Metapod to level 11 and level 12, and it still won't evolve. Edit: 13 now, still not evolving. Edit 2: 14 now. I'm gonna give up on it for now. Edit 3: Also, unless I'm the luckiest person alive, Pikachu's encounter rate in Gale Forest is way too high. It's hard to find anything that isn't Pikachu.

  • 1. Since there's not going to be trading, how will we get the remaining 20 starters and all of the trade evolutions?

To answer that question, you can only get another starter after defeating the 4th Gym and progressing a bit through the story. For most trade evolution Pokemon, you will need to use a specific evolution stone called the Mysterious Stone (I can't think of a better name😅). Not only that, items like the metal coat and dragon scale can be used as evolution items. However, I do want to make an NPC for the Karrablast and Shelmet evolution as it just a cool concept and the only reason why I am ok with Gen 5's introduction.

]2. I noticed there were some encounters different from the Wiki, like Grubbin in Gale Forest. I was wondering, what are all of the different/new encounters compared to the original PBB?

TBH, I actually have no idea... I just feel like the alolan Pokemon are being a bit left out in the early games...

]3. How will we get the different game passes, like the Ability Charm and such? Will it be by filling out the Pokedex, similar to the official games?

I am not to sure... one of the items (exp. share) is accessible after defeating the first gym (like in Seedonator's PBBR) and for the others, you may need to do a side quest. For the shiny charm, you would defo need to fill in the Pokedex like the main series games.

    4. Which generation mechanics does this use? Like for the movesets and ability changes and etc.

It has all abilities up to gen 8, however most of them are not functional yet (also some moves don't have their unique functionality yet.)

    5. Is the Porygon encounter in the game? I couldn't find any way to encounter it in the Silvent Pokemon Center.

It is already coded in the game, however you will need an item called a micro-chip in order to trigger the encounter. However, I am just not sure the method to obtain it, therefore the encounter is inaccessible at this time

    6. Since there's no Battle Colosseum, how will we access things like the items exclusive to the BP shop or the move deleter/reminder?

I am planning for the player to be able to obtain and spend battle points once the player arrive at Anthian City.

    7. I saw something about the level cap being raised to 20 while browsing through the posts here, but my Pokemon reached over that. What's the new level cap, if there is one?

The current level cap is actually Level 25

    8. What's the best place to exp train? I assume it's the same as it was when PBB was in this stage of the game, the Hiker in Mt. Igneous, but I decided to ask this on the off chance there's a different one or something.

It should be the same as the original PBB...

    9. Do all of the wild Pokemon have the items they held in PBB? Like Pikachu with the 3% Light Ball and etc. If so, do the abilities Compound Eyes and Frisk work?

Well... due to the amount of times I have to redo the PBS file, I am guessing no... (for now at least)

Edit: Judging by that I just changed the Pokemon PBS file to silverlime's Gen 8 PBS, the items should match the current gen 8 games (those unobtainable in gen 8 will remain the same as gen 6 or 7). Since PBB has the similar move learnset and held items, I am guessing they would be the same in the next update

Also, a small thing, I noticed the trainer class in the 2nd gym was still "Bouncer" which is for the 1st gym, when the Wiki has it as "Pyro" for the 2nd.

I also noticed that, it will be fixed...
