    @dearman4:

I'm not sure if these were already reported to you or not but here are two things I noticed with the "Legacy" patch...

    1. Some Pokemon I've caught, so far bug types from routes 102 and 104 and Petalburg Woods, would evolve and not acquire an "Ability" making them marked as not having any Ability which is absolutely odd.

    2. Some word Options from the "Word Pool" when you're doing things like specifying your Profile are still in all caps.

... I've yet to try out the "Deluxe" variant because I'm still waiting on your investigation of the not working Day/Night Lighting for it.

So, I'm having a problem. I have a level 32 Eevee that I want to evolve into an Umbreon, and it is currently night-time where I live. However, my Eevee keeps evolving into an Espeon no matter what. I am playing the Deluxe version. I also do notice that the Day-Night cycle is not showing in the overworld, so it may be tied to that in some way.

The day/night cycle is based on system time, but time based evolutions go on in-game time. I suggest you get the pocket watch item and set the time to 10pm and try evolving your Eevee then 🙂

I tried it and it worked, thank you

Ok, I encountered another Pokemon that sometimes evolves without an ability. The Tyrogues you can catch in Granite Cave B1. Also I seem to have missed the NPC that gives you the tool equivalent of HM01 Cut, granted I'm still hanging around Dewford and Granite Cave as I want to catch every 'mon in an area before I move on.

Also just something I wish you'd consider for the Deluxe patch... replace the "boring" single form Pokemon like Dunsparce and Spinda with the pre-evolutions of cooler 'mons like Bonsly for Sudowoodo and Munchlax for Snorlax. I know you are restricted by space which was why you couldn't add all Gen4 'mons to the Deluxe patch but those two in particular are so "meh!" anyway and won't be truly missed anyway.

Yeah that issue with the abilities will be fixed in the next version, just a few typos on my end.

The only HMs with items are Flash and Fly, the rest of the HMs like Cut or Surf are just used by interacting with trees and such.

I'd rather keep all the vanilla pokemon available and I don't know how to change which pokemon hatches from breeding so adding baby pokemon would only be there to be caught in the wild which isn't the best imo.

    Wait...

I seem to remember from the version I played from two or three years ago that you added an ingame item, or was it just flavor text (?), that explained how you could use Cut, Strength, Dive and Surf without the need for any Pokemon actually needing to learn the HMs. Or did I just dream that? I distinctly remember you were given shears for Cut, an inner tube for Surf, Diving Goggles (?) for Dive and a Power Glove for Strength.

I also distinctly remember that your old "Night" lighting was the screen being almost pitch black during night. And now the game looks kinda off with the game having a pinkish hue at 8PM at night when it should be pitch dark, or at least in a dark hue of blue.

It's just flavor text after beating the gyms lol

The day / night cycle should be the same

Okay, tyrogue is doing some weird Evolution Shenanigans...

I had one with equal Atk and Def that evolved into Hitmontop, nothing wrong so far.
Then I got another that had Atk < Def that evolved into Hitmonchan so ok.
Then my third that had Atk > Def evolved into... Hitmontop WTH!?

That shouldn't happen... You can always switch to the simple evolutions to get a hitmonlee

I wasn't even doing anything with them like feeding Vitamins to them seeing as I'm still at Granite Cave. All I did was catch one, the level 9 ones you find in B1, then look at their stats to see which evolution they'll potentially get. Then I just level them up one level to level 10 and they'd evolve right away. I just found it odd that the one with Atk > Def didn't evolve correctly.

    RFE - Addendum:\

I finally got a Tyrogue that properly evolved into Hitmonlee and all I needed to do was find one that had a Nature that boosts its Atk stat ^_^

Anyway, I forgot to ask if you added the modern Breeding Mechanic, where in Modern games either parent can pass on Egg Moves to a Baby Pokemon not just the father, to the patch?

    Addendum yet again:

So ok I finally got to Slateport and when I bought ten (10) Great Balls I wasn't given a Free Premier Ball. So are the free Premier Balls only for ten regular Poke Balls now?

    Addendum - Promise last one:

Here are two screenshots of my Night time, 9:15PM, gameplay and if I recall correctly this Lighting coloration was originally used in the 6PM to 8PM time frame and it should be gray to nearly black by 9PM onwards.

    Spoiler:

I apologize for the double post, but it's a new day and one new issue I encounteted...

Once I talk to the Move Tutor inside of Captain Stern's Shipyard at Slateport, the one who says he's from Kanto, and I say no to his offer to learn a move for 1k Pokebucks the game glitches out. The screen becomes broken and I lose control of my character and the game kinda soft locks entirely.

The breeding mechanics are not updated to have egg moves passed from both parents

It's only ten pokeballs that get you a premier ball

I'll look into the times for the night block

Will fix that tutor in the next update

Hey dearman4, sorry if youve already gotten this before, but I seem to be having an issue getting an eevee to evolve into a glaceon, neither the nevermeltice or levelling with an ice type worked for me, and instead it evolved into a leafeon, using the leaf stone did work as normal, and produced a leafeon. When I went to use PGE to look at eevees evolutions, glaceon and leafeon dont appear. Any recommendations?

Are you using Deluxe or Legacy? Because only Deluxe has the gen4 evolutions. Also, because Eevee needs more than the standard five evolutions, it's handled differently and doesn't show up in PGE

I'm using the deluxe variant with the lore friendly evolution patch.

Really? That's peculiar. I'll look into that! Try without the lore friendly evos and let me know if you get the same issue

I've fiddled around with the rom, so it could be an error on my part, would you like me to send a copy of the one I'm using?

If you want to make a patch of yours, that's fine. Against forum rules to share full ROM files!

here is a google drive with the .ups patch, if this isnt allowed either please let me know so i can delete it! Also, I'm not familiar with hex editing whatsoever, but would it be easier to patch a clean emerald with the deluxe and lore friendly patches, and look at the hex from my copy and the new one to see where the error might be?
