I'm the biggest fan of a GS Remake in the DS.
I think, as Infinite Heartless Core said, that Nintendo has show all of us they're planning/making a remake.
It would be a great business for Nintendo, and it'd mantain the franchise in the top for two or three years more...

I dream with a remake, although I doubt about the officiality of the images that round the net. Don't forget there're a lot of RomHacks and those images probably are taken from there.

    A G/S Remake?

Where did this art come from?

Now that I've learned Japanese a bit better, this art is about pokemon Emerald, but it has new art. That's odd, as the newest art was in the 5th Generation of Video Gaming.

Well, if you actually think about the fact there's so many pictures on it which may well be fake, then why haven't they released it yet? there's been so many hacks like on youj tube to create different protagonists and places, so this may well be just another one of those rumours, cos in my opinion, if all fo these pictures and stuff have been released, thent hey wouild have anounced it's release in japan already

Many of them are fake, it would make absolutely no sense for Nintendo to release actual art for an upcoming remake - however, some of the art and plots in the upcoming movie seems to hint that there will be a remake.

Also, Nintendo is very, very weird about announcing things or confirming rumors. Their next big pokemon project most likely won't be released for another year or two, and they most likely won't give out any details on it until it's fairly close to release date. If you look back on Nintendo's behavior, you'd see that they're pretty secretive about things. I mean, Arceus was discovered to be in the game a long time ago, and he wasn't officially acknowledged by Nintendo to exist until February 2009. I wish Nintendo could just tell us if they're going to do a remake or not, but that wouldn't be in their best interest, since keeping quiet on things seems to increase the hype and excitement of fans.

I highly doubt it's done because of that. Games that aren't being made or promoted aren't going to be talked about, especially games whose only source is rampant fan speculation. And even if they are producing a game, companies don't like random employees promoting a product that could get delayed, canned, or moved to vaporware.

    ABSOLUTE BREAKING NEWS!

A new Pokemon Chronicles series is hitting Japanese viewing screens. What this has to do with G/S Remakes you ask? Well lets see the title of this anime, shall we?

    Pokemon Chronicles: Gold and Silver

That's right, it's here. The main character is mMay, with Harley joining her. I'm not sure, but remember that episode with the girl with the Chatot in Battle Frontier? She's in it, joining along May.

More and more evidence now, Nintendo and Gamefreak have made it quite obvious now.

With the new DSi coming out soon, and the original G/S becoming more and more obsolete, the chances of a G/S remake are becoming stronger and stronger if you ask me.

UUUH gee lets see the fact that the pic was proven fake a while ago and the fact that its well over a year old and well yeah it just screams fake i mean hell chikorita even looks fake. At ^ are you insinuating that it should be made for the DSi? BAH HUMBUG. It would be a major downisde to the game not an upside.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the DSi the same as a regular DS except "better"? I'm pretty sure that regular DS games will be able to be played on the DSi, and if that is the case, then it doesn't really make a difference as long as the G/S remake is a DS game, since people without the DSi could still play it.

I could be wrong about that, but I doubt that Nintendo is going to make a new handheld that will have a new generation of games on it. It seems too soon to make an entirely new system, especially in this economy. Nintendo likes to recycle the same ideas to make more money, anyway, so that seems to be what they're doing with the DSi.

Correct - the DSi is merely what the GBA SP was to the GBA, or what the DS Lite was to the DS - a mere upgrade. There won't be games specific to the DSi, I'm pretty sure - all it has are some extra functions and all, and a somewhat larger pricce tag as a result of that.

Marketing wise it wouldn't happen anyway - why would you release a game for the DSi and only the DSi, when the DS/DS Lite can play the same thing just fine? If it uses a feature only the DSi haves, like the camera, then that feature would merely be disabled if played in a DS/DS Lite. (I don't see much use of that with a Pokemon game in the first place either). Why restrict and hurt sales by a rather significant amount, otherwise?

I believe however that BeatTheSpecialStage was merely saying that with the DSi (which has no GBA slot and hence cannot be used to migrate Pokemon from GBA games into 4th gen games), the likihood of a GS remake improves...? IMO I'd say it has a rather minimal effect in itself, but it is a point, I suppose. =/
