im getting loads of sandstorms on november 16 and i can give it to u for free

that is if u can wait for that long xD

I can wait, unless I get one before that. 1 pattern is nothing to lose sleep over. :P (Icy Snow was really bugging me though, until I snagged one off of GTS today)

Alright :D

sandstorm is really easy to get tbh

just set ur region to UAE/Saudi arabia before starting a new game and u get one xD

Ah, excellent plan... except I don't have anywhere to back up my Pokemon until Bank. I'm not going to buy another copy of Pokemon just to get 1 Vivillon form.

I just thought of an interesting question pertaining to Vivillon.

If you have an existing save, and change the region on your 3DS (and let's be honest, this can randomly happen if you move across country, and I think both Canada and the U.S. have different types around each country; I know Canada has two), will that change affect the EXISTING save file? Or would you be forced to create a new file to get the new Vivillon?

The question came to mind as I mused about changing the region for Animal Crossing. The same question came up in my mind for that as I was musing, then Vivillon entered my mind.

If anyone is willing to test this (so I don't ruin my own game, I'm a completionist and don't want that hard work gone to waste), I'll be happy to trade a Polar Vivillon's Scatterbug Egg for an Egg created after a change. I'll then hatch it and keep it alongside me with the Exp Share active, and report back to you what type it ends up being (and don't tell me what your type is or the region you set to). This way we can properly test this guess. :)

If it works, I'll be setting up a Scatterbug trading shop in my PC.

I have thought about this as well but I am also a completionist. I was thinking about doing it more for Monsoon than Sandstorm though.

I will gladly help your shop with Modern eggs when you make it. Come December, (if not earlier), I will be breeding them with at least 5 perfect IV and all Nature locked for Modest with maybe a few Timid here and there.

So you're going to just give away free Sandstorms then? I think we'd all appreciate that! Make sure to get plenty, as there's sure to be a lot of demand.

I love polar! It's the pattern native to where I live. I have polar, modern, high plains, elegant, and savanna. Been evolving the Scatterbugs/Spewpas I get from wonder trade so hopefully I get more soon. :3

I'm still Missing Icy Snow, Sandstorm, Jungle, and Sun Patterns. People over GTS need to stop giving me Elegant's when I put my Polar's up for trade. I clearly ask for the Sun Forms. If you can't read English, DON'T TRADE WITH ME OVER GTS! It's so frustrating.

The Vivillon pattern native to my version is the Modern pattern. I forgot what location I set my 3DS to, though. I can't really be bothered other collecting Vivillon patterns, though.

Did anyone see my idea above?

Alternatively, if anyone tries a region change then catches a new Scatterbug, the same question exists; can we catch another type?

I may set my location to northern Canada to try that out.

Unfortunately, more often than not its a case of ripping you off with common forms rather than not being able to read. That's why the GTS is highly unreliable for Vivillon trading since it's based on trust. Only once had someone trade me my requested form. (and it was Ocean, a particularly rare one!) While I appreciate the trust and honesty of a few GTSers, it's still a gamble you're likely to lose.
