What you quoted completely explains why I don't want customization the the games and I've already said so before. Yes changing clothing would be optional but for nostalgia purposes and because May and Brendan's clothing is iconic I personally don't feel comfortable with the idea of being able to change their appearance.
Like I said, you don't have to change their appearance if you don't want to. You can keep them in their original clothes and never change them. However, some of us would like to fiddle with their outfits, and that option should be made available to us. It doesn't really matter what other people do with Brendan and May's outifts in their own games, it just matters what you do in your game. Nostalgia is a very weak reason to deny people character customization.

I've acknowledged that. It was asked if we wanted them back and I explained that I didn't and why. I don't have to justify my reasoning to you although I've been more than nice enough to do so.

*sigh* Fine, fine, I'll drop it. I'm just having a hard time understanding your reasoning is all.

I don't think customisation should really be a thing in ORAS (just one less that I don't really care about to worry about, really), but I agree that nostalgia alone is not a good enough reason to completely dismiss the likelihood of it showing up in these games, given that it was such a huge focus point for X/Y.

Took me awhile to find this thread again. I was thinking about the main characters of Unova (both BW and sequels) and Kalos, and how they're older (or at least said to be) than 10 years old. I wonder how they'll handle players that are 10, will they make their models look smaller compared to the Kalos characters. Hopefully Branden is 11 like he was in the RS special so he won't seem that young.

If it is set in the future, I assume one will be the gym leader to replace their father and the other will be the new professor. Or if it's not TOO far in the future, they might just be background characters or friends who pop up every once in awhile.
If it is a true remake, no doubt they will be the default protagonist look. I don't see why customization wouldn't return though. Then again, we got Pokemon following us in HGSS and that never returned. So who knows.

Kinda obvious it will be Brendan and May with the possibility of customizing their outfits and such like in X and Y.

I feel this might be it. They would feature older versions of Brendan and May to follow the trend. Maybe not too much of an age difference like 14, but 11, because they aren't sequels, just remakes. At least they would have to improve the models if they are thinking about added player customisation again.

Honestly, I can't say anything for certain. Customization was a huge step forward for Pokemon imo, since not only could we change our clothes we could also pick our own skin and hair colors. I can totally see them keeping Brendan & May and going both ways.

Just going to throw this in and say that I really want them to look something like this *O*
I've seen that picture thrown around a lot, and personally I don't like that look. It doesnt look like an "update" of anything recognizable about Gen3's unique art direction but more of a miss-match of random X/Y clothing thrown together and I dont see the symatry or coherent styling in them. I feel that the designs of the protagonists should not be random additions or swaps of what they originally wore; but like emerald actual updates that should reflect the aesthetic of the original or the generation. A remake needs to "remake" it, not change it.

This is what I'd rather and hope to see (Below) as its exactly what I envision.

If they're going to implement the character customization to ORAS, then I don't think the heroes will remain Brendan and May. However, they could still be in the game as the players rival. I mean, I could be totally wrong and they just allow you to change the wardrobe/hairstyle of Brendan and May, haha. I just see them keeping it simple in order to add the customization feature, to avoid complications.

Having Both is weird. I mean the whole point for customization in my opinion is if you dont like the look of the default characters which isnt at all the case this gen. Maybe for BW2 where the default character clothing styles looked ridiculous but Gen 3 and Gen 4 has the most unique and in character felt stylistic appeal, they seemed to be the only gens that still retained the original art direction feel from the Gen 2 style. I'd almost ask why bother but regardless we need the option just to personalize ourselves if anything not at the cost of them making generic defaults just for the feature. Having May and Brendan as the leads to me is priority while both would be great.

I do like the designs for May and Brendan, but would very much like to have the option for customization. It's not like you have to change their outfits if you don't want to.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have it, for my preference they have to at least give us clothes I'd want to wear instead of the default. If the clothes arent better than the defaults it feels undermining and pointless. Customization should improve upon the models not reduct from them but thats only if they actually give us unique pokemon-themed clothing to wear. Not generic Sims goodwill.

I think Hoenn might have a different sellection of clothes to reflect the tropical weather, or maybe just copy/paste from XY.

I hope that May's new clothes are either blue or green, or both plus black. Brendan could have red, green, and white for his color scheme.

May=Pink or White because of her Fairy Marill or dark blue for Kyogre
Brendan=Green or Blue for Shiftry or Swampert or red for Groudon

I seriously hope they add more clothes... The old ones just didn't appeal. It looked like all of us were Old Navy models.
