Anna's Vanilla Mafia

Hello hello, welcome to a vanilla mafia game! Please be sure to read this entire post before jumping in! Any questions can be directed to me via PM.

Mafia, also known and played as Werewolf, is a party game in which two teams are pitted against each other. The teams are the uninformed majority (aka Town or Innocents) and the informed minority (aka Mafia, Werewolves, Scum, Bad Guys, etc). The innocents do not know who the mafia are, but the mafia know each other. The goal for the innocents is to figure out who the mafia are and oust them from the game. The goal for the mafia is to survive until they outnumber the remaining innocents.

The game is played in a cycle of phases. During the Day, all members will discuss in the thread and the Innocents will attempt to figure out who the Mafia are. Each person has a responsibility to vote on who they think is Mafia. At the end of the day, those votes will be tallied and the person with the most votes will be lynched. The day will end with the GM (Game Master, in this case me!) making a phase post revealing the results of the voting, and Night will begin. During the night, no members are allowed to post in the thread. The mafia will decide together who to kill, and will send that decision to the GM. Everyone with a special role will send their Night Action to the GM as well. Night will end with a phase post detailing the results of the night, and another day will begin. Discussing the game outside of the thread with anyone besides the GM is against the rules and grounds for being dropped from the game.

This game is intended to be a short, sweet, basic game for those who are new to UG or those who simply find fun in vanilla. All the roles will be detailed in this post- you will know exactly how many people are playing, how many people are assigned to each role, and what each role does. There will be twelve players total in this game.

Roles

The Villager
Villagers have no powers beyond the power of their words. Their duty is to discuss during the day and single out the mafia members. They will win if all the mafia are killed. There are seven of them in this game.

The Detective
This villager can investigate one person every night to discover if they are allied with the Town or the Mafia. They will win if all of the mafia are killed. There is only one of them in this game.

The Doctor
This villager can choose one person to save every night, including themselves. If the mafia targets the player they chose to save, the mafia kill will fail. They will win if all of the mafia are killed. There is only one of them in this game.

The Goon
This mafia member has no powers beyond helping decide who the mafia will target every night. They will win if the Mafia side outnumbers the Town side. There are three of them in this game.​

Rules

1. To vote for someone, you must format your vote as [Lynch] Name.
2. Not voting for two day phases will result in your elimination or replacement.
3. You may not share your PMs. You may share the information contained in them at your discretion.
4. If you are out of the game for any reason you may not post at all.
5. You may not post during the night phase. This may result in elimination from the game.
6. You MUST vote for someone. Abstaining is not allowed.
7. In the event of a tie, a coin toss will determine who dies.
8. Have fun and try to figure people out, but be civil. No personal attacks, thank you.

+1 Suggestion: If you have participated in more than 5 UG games, please refrain from joining until half of the slots have been filled or I give permission. Thanks!​

ahhh thanks for the interest guys! Bard, Abby, Gunner- I'm gonna hold off on yall cause you're not real new to make sure anyone who is gets a shot at trying it out. You'll most likely end up in though okay?

The residents of the town fell asleep one after another, each looking forward to the bright new day ahead. They never imagined that three among them were plotting to make the following day as dark as the dry blood of their victim...

Phase Post: Day One

The doctor on their nightly housecall found nothing wrong with their patient, and so traipsed home in the fading light. The detective, always doing their civic duty, chose to finish their shift by investigating one more person. Once satisfied of the person's innocence the detective sauntered off, not seeing those who had hidden in the shadows, not hearing the dying scream of the person that had just been cleared.

Lelouch is dead. He was a Villager.

It is now Day. 48 hours remain in this phase.

Theres no abstaining so our best bet is to each pick a random person. Or bandwagon one unlucky person.

The phase post sounds like the cop investigated Lelouch, so yay. No leads for us today.

We can't abstain though so unless something wacky happens later I'll roll a D10 and see what I get :P
