This premise is one whole big Intrigue Plot in itself! And I got all antsy as I scrolled down because I was really interested but was worried about what player characters it would have, and then BAM, it's a NO-HUMANS roleplay and that's my absolute favourite.
I have a character in mind, an existing one who already works as a butler and has for most of his life, buuuut has a little experience as a waiter as well. He's got impeccable manners, enjoys serving others, and lets his kind heart show through his prim and proper demeanor. He's very refined and genteel, but he's likely to fluster under embarrassments, and certain unprofessionalism. I would have to give him a whole lot more fleshing-out but you know what, the suits me just fine!
Or if that's a little too conveniently suited for the setting, perhaps... my aromatherapist character needs a job on the side? She would be out of her element, would that be more interesting than a butler who's already extremely well-mannered?
One thing I wanted to ask about were the Missions.
"Every hour, new Missions will appear that can earn you money."
Now, how do these appear, exactly? I ask because I can certainly forsee the unfortunate event where, a couple of the characters are rather far away from where the mission popped up, and may not hear about its goings-on for a while, leading to a disadvantage. Or maybe they're still trying to finish up a previous Mission or Intrigue Plot.
Oh, and one more thing, are you particularly hard-set against characters wearing ANYthing other than the tie? Because my butler character has a signature short blue waiter's jacket, as well as a necktie.
Edit: One MORE more thing. One of your rules is first names only. I would argue that this really does not suit the setting, high is classy and fancy. Those kind of people use their surnames. Either exclusively, or both names. (That butler character for example, has a first name but it's rarely mentioned, he's called by his last name as butlers are. Clientele and fancy schmancy waiters would do the same.
Was it ever explained what job the players actually have? Do we all have the same job or do we get to write our character as choosing to have applied for one position from a list you provide?
