Assuming these games take place following the events of Sun & Moon and we now have a fully fledged Pok?mon League in Alola, who do you think would be the Champion? Is there any particular character that you'd like to face against?

I'd personally like to see Lillie as the Champion in these games. I think it would be a good way to re-introduce her in a different light after having travelled back to Alola and built her battling skills after defeating the Kanto league.

Lillie as champion will be terrible. She is unlikable and is not even a trainer. She won't even be a rival because she is not much of a threat. I suggest that our character stays as champion instead.

I still think it'll be Lillie, although I'm not entirely certain how that'd come about...if it's in alternate story, she could have already been to Kanto and come back. Although if it's a sequel that's entirely possible too. I just hope it isn't Hau. There are easier ways to wipe that stupid grin off his face than make him a champion.

Really, I guess it depends on the structure of the league; whether we still only have trials, or Gyms now as well. I doubt the final battle would be Kukui, or any of the Kahunas, and Gladion seems unlikely given that he's not really a trainer either and doesn't appear to have aspirations to be one. Maybe it'd be someone new.

I think it would be pretty cool if they pulled the data from Sun/Moon and used that character as the champion. It's very unlikely though :P

With the team you used to face the E4 the first time too? That could be fun. xD

Nothing from SM points to her as champion. I think the professor could be champion. Or Gladion.

Nothing from SM points to them being the Champion either. There is more evidence for Lillie in that position in the event of these games being set after SM because she actually set out to become a trainer.

I'll admit that none of them are likely, but that's just it - Gladion and/or Kukui are even less likely than Lillie. Kukui was only a stand-in in SM, after all.

If you think about it, nothing pointed to Iris being the champion in B2/W2, so it's completely possible that Lillie could be the champion. I think the information that these are not sequels is pretty huge, that means that anything from Su/Mo is pretty much moot at this point.

Actually no. There is evidence for gladion and kukui. Both can already use pokemon and more champion like. There is no evidence of lillie and hopefully she never be champion or any kind of boss.

If you're using that for criterion, you can include practically every Trial Captain in that list too. And even Guzma, given his past and general non-threatening aura despite his status as a Team Skull boss. And dozen of others I could think of. Pretty much any major NPC could seem "Champion like" and, even if they don't, that means nothing...Iris sure didn't seem "Champion like" in Black/White.

If the games are set after SM and in the same universe, even if they aren't direct sequels - which it seems they won't be - then Lillie has far more chance of being the Champion - more I would argue, because the previous games focused on her more than any other character, and it would be the perfect way to show just how far she's come between now and then.

Lillie probably won't be the champion, since she became a trainer when she got to Kanto and I highly doubt she would get that strong that quick.

The professor isn't really interested in being champion which is in the game. Plus, he'll need to walk the new character through.

Gladion is the head of the Aether Federation now so I wouldn't think he would be the champion though out of these three I think he could be.

The characters I think it could be is Rysco, the former pro (though that's debatable since there was a boy and girl protagonist, not like the original Gold/Silver), Guzma (though I highly doubt it), some new character or no champion.

I disagree. Lillie has no chance of being champion. We need a worthy champion like Gladion. We might not get a champion anyway if it turns our character becomes the first champion of alola again.

I'm also on board with guessing that we'll just get a brand new character to fill the Champion role, even if we get nothing hinting at them being Champion like Iris in B2/W2.

It is not likely they are gonna put lillie as the champ. But it would be cool for sure

It wouldn't. I actually want a challenge. I think we should keep our main character as champion and just challenge challengers.
I mean, what's stopping GF from making Lillie a challenge? I'm not saying she will be champion or whatever, but there's nothing stopping GF from doing so and making her hard to beat.

I just don't like her personally. I even take Lusamine over her as champion. I like a champion that i actually like and i loved all the previous ones. Iris in B2W2 is okay because she is not like the anime version which i disliked.
