This is an awesome hack! Silly question: Where is the move relearner, again? I remember bumping into him once but then forgetting where to find him again.

EDIT: Never mind! Found him in Gamboge City.

Hey so I just started playing and I'm at the first gym and had absolutely no idea what to do. After searching for "Pokemon Vega first gym" and finding out how to get through and that it's also a frequently asked question I would suggest changing how that, uhh "puzzle(?)" works. Or at least put some sort of clue in. For example after you beat the first and only trainer in the gym she could say something like, "and make sure you don't touch the windows, I just cleaned them!". The fact that it's a F.A.Q. and it's only the first gym should tell you that it needs to be changed.

Yeah, I agree. This game is fun, but notoriously hard. However, fixing Vega's problems isn't the point of this hack. The point of this hack is translating it from Japanese to English. However, I've been working on a hack of Vega to tone down the difficulty. Right now it's nowhere close to being done, but when I've got it to a point where I'm comfortable with it I'll probably put it on the Sideshow Showcase. With the translation team's permission of course.

Well, one is hiding behind one of the buildings in a way that makes it to where you can't see them, and another one decided to be a cheater and hide over in Rustburough. Happy hunting.

When I first heard of this hack's difficulty I didn't think it would be harder than any of the dark rising games, seems like I was wrong, I reached a new record fastest time a rom hack pretty much forced me to use rare candies cheat: the first gym

What's ironic is that Nimbleaf, who has a type disadvantage, is better to use in the gym than Liquiput :P

And here I am. With Peyero. The Fire type. Against a Bug type trainer. I love you Peyero, but WHY ON EARTH DOES A BUG TYPE LEADER USE SO MANY ROCK TYPE MOVES!?!? Sigh.

Hey, I just made it to the Undersea Tunnel and have been trying to get to B2F, but I can't seem to find anything going further down than B1F. Can I not access it yet or am I just blind?

If you mean the ladder blocked by rocks, it's only after E4.

To the complaints about how this rom is hard, well it isnt.. THE ONLY HARD PART IS THE BEGINNING one of the first 3-4 gyms i think before the VS seeker, but the E4 you can easily do it with one specific Pokémon( i am not gonna tell you which one, but it should be easy to find this Pokémon) you can actually sweep em all when you level him up to level 70, and there are more of these pokémons that you could sweep through the entire E4. This is only for the normal E4, not the rematchable E4, since i havent tested that yet. Blocking revives gives this rom a challenge, so i heavily disagree of enabling revive to the pokemarts. Keep that blocked out please! Again you DO NOT NEED revives.

The only thing that i didnt like is that a bunch amount of good looking Pokémon(hi Bassile!) are blocked untill you have defeated the E4/Champion, which is dissapointing. I also miss somthing like a battle frontier for post-game or a battle tower.

Things that irritated me(which i love lol) was the gym puzzle in the 7th gym. It took me a good hour to get that done.

I also didnt use ANY starters at all.

If anyone here needs help on how to get through a specific part or how to defeat a gym leader or something else i will be available to help :) i made an account just for this

And i have to give the maker HUGE PROPS to the sprites. Most rom hacks that are making fakemons are bad, not to insult anyone but i just done like how some parts of the sprite totally dont match the game and look ugly. This rom however all the fakemons look perfect AND i prefer some of em OVER the ones that are the original and what people said here this could have been Nintendo's work. Amazing, i hope of the a sequal and i hope something in the likes of a difficult battle tower/frontier in the sequal.

Thanks. I figured it was something like that. Disappointing as I was looking forward to using the Dunsparce evolution. But oh well.

It's been a long time since I played this hack, and yes, it qualifies as Nintendo Hard. However, the only cheat code I actually used was the Walk Through Walls code, and only for the seventh gym, because screw wasting however many hours it takes to figure out how to get past those damn sliding boulders.

While I myself didn't use this, after the seventh gym you can obtain one of the game's Pickup users, which would make the rest of the main game somewhat easier since Rare Candies can be used as Revives outside of battle.

Also, Nimbleaf is the best starter IMO, though you'll have to grind it to around Level 33 (if not 36 to reach its final form) and get a little lucky if you don't want to get swept by the Water gym's lead Starmie. And grinding is much more time consuming than on most hacks.

My endgame team for the first E4 run was Caudaleaf, Houndoom, Hantama, Walrein, Lilapse, and Zapdos, the last one being built to tank special attacks. Looking back on it, I don't like that I ended up using multiple legendaries, but considering that Lilapse is one of only a few Ground-types that doesn't lose to most Electric-types...

Recap of some of the things I strongly dislike, if not hate, about this hack:
1) Machu. What the actual hell were the original makers smoking when they came up with that monstrosity? I hope this Fakemon gets deleted from the sequel, if there is actually going to be a sequel.
2) The distribution of high-powered coverage moves with minor or irrelevant drawbacks. The majority of Electric-types getting Hydro Pump, for example, makes way too many Ground-types in Vega unusable in their original role as an Electric counter, and competitively, only Dugtrio, Garchomp and Lilapse would be OU-worthy if a metagame for Vega existed (and Garchomp might get banned to Ubers in Vega's metagame like it did in Gen 4). (Edit: After going through the data files, I remembered that Mamoswine is in Vega along with three others that have a good shot at OU: Dvaarak (Arena Trap), Hasaga, and Pinchor. *smacks myself for forgetting about Mamoswine and Pinchor*)
3) Phantonate. It is incredibly broken, due to getting the two most broken abilities in the game, Shadow Tag and Wonder Guard, while having an HP stat that's higher than 1 along with good enough Attack and Speed to abuse its abilities.
4) Zapdos doesn't learn Thunderbolt. WTF.
5) Being unable to figure out how to breed Earthquake onto Gible, if it's even possible to do so like the data files claim.
