Hey Asty, I remember you enjoyed Hamlet so I thought I might drop an essay I wrote. A characterisation on Hamlet, though it's up to roughly the end of Act 3 or Scene 4 so it's lacking a little. That's just because we were assigned the essay before we finished.

Ooh, Orre fic. I'm interested. =D Anyways... going by in-game stuff, it never actually says just how a Pokemon's heart gets closed (except that in Colosseum they mention it's 'artificially' done to make it into 'a fighting machine'). It is kinda hinted though that the Pokemon gets tortured or put under some sort of stress or the like. Worthy of note in Colosseum Shadow Pokemon are made in a remote lab in the middle of desert which when you get there is full of empty prison-like cells, and in XD it's in a 'Shadow Factory' (hardly a nice place as you may imagine =P). Also the original way is to visit the relic stone, a shrine for Celebi, or meet Celebi itself, which will purify the Pokemon's heart (via the power of time and all I suppose). That's the view I've taken anyways, and from what I've seen of other people's thoughts it seems to be the general consensus.
