2D games can really only have "layers" of 3D so that sounds right for VVVVVV.

Yeah, Bit.Trip Complete is on Wii too, though if you have a choice between 2D and 3D, might as well go with 3D :3

Well, there isn't much in the way for 3D, just having some objects in the front/middle/back and 3D menu transitions.

As for Bit.Trip Complete, isn't that 3DS or Wii?

It's less a case of OMG THE MUPPETS MUST WIN AWARDS, and more of a general 'cut-off point'. for what's considered a 2011-film in the eyes of the British public (and awards-giving bodies, obviously). Although in terms of Oscars, I imagine it's a shoe-in for numerous Best Song nominees, from what I've heard. Life IS a happy song, after all!

The English LEs are basically identical to the Japanese LEs (complete with extra goodies), only with twice the episodes. I'd say they're well worth the investment.

But yeah, I agree that the dub is merely serviceable at best. I'm sure they're competent actresses, but I'm not sure if they're actually appropriate choices; I still feel that Aniplex could have done a bit better with regards to casting.
