The only thing that could have corrupted the OG save is turning off the game a few seconds after saving. The game just corrupted itself the second time. I never knew you could do save backups on the 3DS i'll do that as long as it doesn't require Homebrew or anything.

Honestly it feels like this for all my Pokemon games once i finish them. Most of my finished games end up collecting dust, and i'll only pick up finished Pokemon games to Shiny hunt. Oooooof I had another 3DS but it's extremely broken (screen's off the hinge, there's so many dead pixels on the screen that you can hardly see it and online play doesn't work) and it did have Pokemon Yellow but i don't know where it is and i can't use it anyways :'0 I'll just keep waiting
