  • I admire your liberal sense of the world. I thought I was pretty much the only person who believed that our rights should be given to everyone, not just "good" people.
Those water regulations might not prevent the bringing of water from an aquifer in Northern California to the valley, since it seems the regional aquifers are strained due to overuse.
Again, is there any particular reason why they can't draw water from further upriver?

Then smaller pipes that the fish can't fit in?
They can't draw water from further upriver?

If the fish fits in the pipes, why not make smaller pipes? It'd be slower water volumes, but it'd keep the fish out of the pipes. Alternatively, make it bigger. Fish in the pipes means you wouldn't be getting as much water anyway.

If you want evidence of both growing in tandem, look at North Dakota and how well off it is compared to the rest of the nation. Energy and agriculture are the backbones of that state, with wind power and shale oil deposits being the leading contributors from energy.
I do value the survival of the human race above an individual, but that's on the basis that it's end would likely be caused by a minority of individuals while the majority of individuals have no opportunity to affect it. I'd rather see the human race survive than individuals rights bring it to ruin. Just a personal value.
By saying fossil fuels are a finite resource, I am pointing out an advantage to switching to technologies that presumably will end or slow global warming. My goal with it was to state an advantage of such a switch. I am an individualist to the extent of someone's rights not harming someone else, and I consider irresponsible resource usage to fall in the domain of harming someone else.
what does the quote in your signature mean? tbh it's been driving me crazy ever since you put it up :(
No problem! n_n (...I don't recall why I deleted the VM, haha. You get the point though. :D)

EDIT: On second thought, I do. I didn't think it warranted a response, but you managed to respond anyway. :3
