I prefer Latias, purely for the personality she had in Pokemon Heroes: Latias and Latios. And I like red more than blue. I seriously have no better reasons, haha.

That actually sounds pretty awesome. I like the idea of meeting different rivals throughout the game, because it would be more like the Anime as you said. And the thought of a good-old-fashioned plotted tournament sounds wonderful, especially with the older protagonists and antagonists involved.

I nickname every Pokémon I catch, other than legendaries. I find their names acceptable. I nickname them names that fit their species, like I named my Leafeon "Thorn" and my Espeon "Medium". If the Poké already has a decent name, like Skitty or Litwick, I just rename them whatever their name is...
