When I used to live in Maine, we used to have this Maple tree in our backyard. We never used it for maple syrup though. Anyway, instead... I would take a knife, scrape the bark and then come back the next morning. I would found the maple sap oozing from the spot I scraped. I would always lick it, and I know it sounds really weird... but it was actually REALLY good. It was so sweet. It was something I would do every winter when I climbed up to the top (I didn't like climbing it other seasons because of my fear of bugs/spiders). So yeah... I thought I'd share that weird little story with you. XD

I got Animal Crossing New Leaf around 3 weeks ago and I've poured more than 50 hours into it since ;)

That's the idea of random, the teams are completely unbalanced and you have to try to get the best out of it. xP

I did it a lot for egg moves, but it's not really necessary anymore now most good moves are all infinitely usable TMs. The whole system to get perfect IVs looks all to difficult and time consuming for me. I'm just a boring casual player.

Yeah, I can see what you mean, but I found breeding only fun if you can have an influence on it like with egg moves, but I never get my IVs decent for some reason. I have terrible luck.
Showdown has some cool things though, like playing with completely random teams. It's a great way to discover some new Pokémon you haven't used before. :)

Just Showdown, I don't own a 3DS sadly... It also saves a lot of work for IV breeding. :P
