  • Here's a Mew event idea that my friend at another site came up with:

And, speaking of Deoxys, I also came up with my own event idea for it that's inspired by Missingno:
I agree that ORAS should've incorporated more of Emerald. In fact, if I had my way, I would've just released Emerald and Yellow remakes as a pair to cover both Gens 1 and 3 and get the last remaining pre-DS games fully up to date. That way, both Hoenn and Kanto fans could've gotten what they wanted.

But, instead, GF opted to do a Ruby/Sapphire pair and ignore most of Emerald, and that's what we're stuck with. :sideways:
I have a completely separate story for Mewtwo planned (which involves Silver). As for Mew, it's always been a rare, elusive event Pokémon, and it's likely to stay that way. The most we'll get is an event story that fleshes it out more.

Again, they'll have to do Yellow and Crystal first before they can get to Emerald. Since ORAS already fill the role of Gen 3 games that can be played on a 3DS, there's no need to make "Delta Emerald" other than to please the few people who want an Emerald remake, specifically. (And, even then, ORAS had the "Delta Episode" thing which was clearly meant to be a bone for the Emerald fans... No, it's not the same as a full remake, but it's better than nothing.)

I think GF's comments about "doing stuff they never have done before for the final games" are referring to something else, such as XY prequels or even, DLC.
Well, with the new remakes, Red, hopefully, won't be canonized over the female PC (who would ideally have a canon name and still exist in the games even if you picked Red, regardless of whether or not she's the same girl.)

You don't understand the purpose of my Lugia story. It was designed to give Lorelei a better send-off than the crappy one FRLG attempted to give her, as well as serve as a direct precursor to the Gen 2 Team Rocket story. It would NOT work in a Crystal remake AT ALL.

I know you want to see new!Yellow's postgame devoted entirely to Mega Evolution with many links to the Hoenn games, but not everybody wants that; I sure as heck don't.

I'm going to be harshly realistic--You need to give up this "Delta Emerald" dream. GF has never released a separate Third Version remake within the same Gen, and the chances of them changing that are VERY slim. As they see it, ORAS are more than enough Hoenn, and people who want to play Emerald bad enough probably don't care whether or not they have shiny new 3DS graphics.

Gen 1, on the other hand, doesn't have ANY games that can be played on the current handheld, and FRLG are now more than a decade old, so a Third Version remake is justified in this case. Remember that they have to do Yellow and Crystal first before they can even think of Emerald! (And, that, Gen 4 and 5 remakes will probably happen some time between Crystal and Emerald.)
Yeah, the original games didn't say much about the identity of Silver's father, although his extreme hatred for Team Rocket may have been a small tip-off. (Like many, I don't think Silver and Giovanni had a good relationship.)

In the few years between FRLG and HGSS, some people were speculating that Lorelei was Silver's mother, a "theory" which makes me vomit. She's WAY too young (she's like only 10-15 years older than Silver, at the most), and I can't stand the thought of her and Giovanni together. (Her True Love is Lance.) Hopefully, canonizing Ariana as his mom will kill that "theory" for good.

Maybe... So long as it doesn't interfere with my postgame Lugia story. ;)

Eh, I'd rather see romance hints with the important NPCs, like my postgame Lugia story does with Lorelei/Lance/Archer. There are still way too many characters (mainly E4 members) who haven't canonically interacted with anyone but the protagonists and could use the fleshing out. Plus, my ideal Gen 1 remake would have the PCs as twin siblings, so no shipping to be found there (unless you're a sicko).
I haven't read 50 Shades, only snippets, and I hate its narrative. Can't judge its content, though. :( I'll try to watch the movie, but, considering it's rated only 13+, I don't expect to be impressed.

I just love watching the Twilight movies for their complete lack of quality. The soundtracks are quite good. I used to have them in my playlist. Shame they're wasted in crappy movies.
The PWT. It's unknown whether or not it's 100% canon, but every past Gym Leader (sans Koga) and Champion (which includes Lance) was there. Only Elite Four members were missing (because GF hates them).

I'd accept Z and Yellow. We'd have the first Third Version since 2008 along with the remake of the very first Third Version ever (JP Blue doesn't count).

Well, the resemblance is pretty strong. The next Gen 1 remake should canonize it.
Well, they can always just apply a little Gameplay and Story Segregation. They can also implement a "proto-Pokédex"-type item that looks different, yet is functionally the same.

There are pretty much only two ways he'll return at this point: The PWT returns in the next Kalos game (if it happens), or Gen 1 gets a surprise remake at the very end of the Gen. Same goes for Red, Lance, and the Kanto Gym Leaders, the only other characters (sans Koga and Janine) who have appeared in every Generation but the sixth.

That's how fandom works, I'm afraid. The women only exist to get shoved aside for "teh yaoiz," no matter how strong/cool they are or how much more they make sense with the dudes than the dudes do with each other. :rolleyes2:
Well, of course, Pokémon don't actually exist in RL, but it's still a modern setting that's obviously meant to parallel RL. Not at all like the quasi-historic setting of the Zelda games, which is very far removed from RL.

Yeah, pretty much. Fandom loves their heavily fetishized M/M... :rolleyes2:
Zelda's a different kind of game than Pokémon, so I don't expect the same things from it. (Plus, Majora's Mask actually has a pretty character-driven plot... The core of the story is about Link and Skull Kid.)

They really weren't trying with Flare, were they?

As for Lysandre... I can easily guess why he's a Draco in Leather Pants. As well as who the fandom thinks should be his One True Love... :rolleyes2:
Please, don't use the G-word to describe older fans. It's a childish insult that has no place in reasonable discussions, and it only contributes to the stigmatization of older fans.

    Anyways...

Oh, I heard about that. I have fond memories of playing the N64 originals, myself. (Did you ever play the originals?) Both great games with great stories and lots to do.

I hope it's the latter rather than the former. They can cram as many older Pokémon and references in to Kalos as they want, but at the end of the day, Kalos is still Kalos, not Kanto. I hope those are all, indeed, references to future remakes, which the new timeline (established with ORAS) necessitates, anyways.

I like villains that are realistic and make sense, villains I can actually take seriously. Like, Rocket and to a lesser extent, Plasma. No to Magma, Aqua, Galactic, and Flare.
Boo, spin-off games! Talk about boring! :|

A lot of people have, unfortunately, and GF has responded accordingly by gearing the newest games to competitive battlers as much as possible... Which sucks for people like me. :(

Marge? *one Google search later* Oh, you mean, Courtney! Yeah, I see what you mean about her. Maybe, that's a possible hint for Gen 7's Evil Team?

That's a good writing strategy. You don't want your stories to be inflicted with Black & White Morality, after all.
Hmm, that could be interesting. Maybe, we'll get a hint towards the next Pokémon games (or, even, remakes).

Don't get me wrong, Blue and Silver are both good-looking and have good stories, but I wouldn't want to be the girlfriend of either of them. They both have horrible personalities, and we would constantly be arguing. I'd much rather be with someone like Wally, adorable and kind-hearted. (At least, before ORAS Smogonized him.)

Oh, if only FerrisWheelShippers actually portrayed him that way (HUGE content warning on that link!). :rolleyes2:

Oh, I know. :rolleyes2: Giovanni was the fandom's original Draco in Leather Pants, especially the anime version.

I think we'd all like to see a female evil Team Leader for a change. It's annoying how the female villains are almost always these sexy sidekicks (some moreso than others).

Sounds like an interesting story. Be sure to share it when you're done. :)
I know. -_- Twilight's the most obvious example, but you see it in a ton of other media, too. Girls as young as 8 are being taught to desire the "Bad Boy" and to "save" him with nothing but the "power of love." They're being taught that stalking is "romantic," that it's "sexy" if he forces himself on you, and that him yelling or hitting only means that he "loves" you. Combine this with the near lack of positive portrayals of healthy relationships that are sexy and romantic, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Again, you see its effects in Pokémon fandom. Is it no surprise that the two rivals who are usually considered the "hottest" are also the two who are total jerks? Or, that this guy is considered to be one of the "hottest" and most popular game characters, period? Or, that the most popular version of Lance is not the sweet, caring man from the games and anime, but instead, the hateful villain from Adventures? It's sad and frustrating.

Handled well, that could be a very powerful story. Are you planning a fic?
But, as I said, that would put the Gen 4 remakes in Gen 7 instead of Gen 8, which just wouldn't work. They'll only have time to do one remake pair, especially since Gen 7 will more than likely be for the New 3DS (enough of a reason to not remake Gen 4 then... that's only one handheld after the DS). Plus, I doubt that the New 3DS will still be in use by 2020, as the 3DS' successor probably will have come out by then.

FRLG didn't have Wi-Fi (nor did any of the GBA games); that was introduced with DP. And, the elemental Hyper Beams are terrible, pointless moves, IMO. And, the National Dex was something that RSE should've been able to complete on their own had GF planned the games better. (Plus, RSE + FRLG weren't enough to complete it, anyways, as you needed the GameCube games for several Pokémon, mostly Legendaries.)

Well, they were all made for completely different handhelds with different capabilities, so they don't really look anything like each other. In terms of planning and development, though, HGSS and ORAS definitely have that in common.

Only because they have graphics that look like this instead of this. If you move down to these graphics, you get even better framerates.

I assume. My postgame Lugia story idea is an example of one.

The trainer art and Pokémon art can't really be compared. While the Pokémon art style changed drastically from Gen 2 to Gen 3, it mostly stayed the same after that. The Gen 3 art is a little duller in color than the Gen 4 and later art, but it's not a noticeable difference, and it can easily be fixed with a saturation tool.

The trainer art, on the other hand, is a different story. It changed drastically just going from Gen 3 to Gen 4, and the difference is even more noticeable when you compare it to Gen 6. The Gen 3 trainers are shorter, thicker, duller in color, and have smaller eyes.

Now that the official arts also double as VS portraits, characters having outdated artwork is a real problem. The Gen 4 and 5 art is similar enough in quality and style to Gen 6's to pass, but anything from Gen 3 or earlier just won't do.

Here are the remaining characters without modern artwork--Red, Leaf, Giovanni, Lorelei, Agatha, Kris, Juan, Scott, and the Hoenn Frontier Brains. Without newer artwork, it's harder to bring these characters back in the games as battleable opponents, as they will all need brand new art for their VS portraits. Luckily, the Gen 1 characters probably won't have to wait too long for new remakes to get theirs (and possibly, Kris, too), but unfortunately, the Gen 3 characters aren't so lucky. They had their chance, and ORAS decided to give the middle finger to Emerald. :(

Well, if Crystal were to be remade, I could see Lyra getting redesigned to look more like Kris and thus, retconned into being the same character as her. Lyra's much more of an established character than either Kris or Leaf (She actually has a canon name!), so it would be harder to scrap her completely.

Well, the most obvious names for Red and Blue are already taken, and I can't see people being too fond of them getting those names. Going by the remaining preset names in RBY, they could be renamed "Jack" (Red) and "John" (Blue). Dummy trainer data in FRLG also referred to Blue as "Terry."

The female PC, of course, will need a brand new name. (Especially, if they suck it up and go with "Ash" and "Gary," as she has no anime counterpart.) Reading around, two of Leaf's optional names in FRLG's data are "Jodi" and "June," which fit with "Jack" and "John" if they go with those names.
Well, at least ORAS brought some good things to the table. On the other hand, I can't think of a single meaningful thing FRLG contributed to the franchise. You could literally go back and erase the games from history and not much would change. Even HGSS largely ignored FRLG in favor of the originals!

All remakes should follow HGSS' lead, IMO. Remake the entire generation, plus add tons of new content and truly modernize the old games.

You mean, re-remakes of RBY, right? At this point, I'd rather they just scrap FRLG and redo the originals again, preferably Yellow.

I don't know about doing Gens 1, 2, and 4 all within the same Generation... Here's my idea:

    2016: Gen 7 (New 3DS)
    2017: Yellow/Crystal remake pair
    2018: Gen 7 Third Version/Sequel
    2019: Gen 8 (3DS' successor)
    2020: Diamond & Pearl remakes
    2021: Gen 8 Third Version/Sequel
    2022: Gen 9 (3DS' successor)
    2023: Grey/Grey 2 remake pair
    2024: Gen 9 Third Version/Sequel

A little formulaic, but it works a bit better. Based on this idea, I have only 2 more years until I get my new remakes! ^^
A challenge? They actually dropped Giovanni's and the E4's levels from Red and Blue's (and devolved the former's ace into a Rhyhorn), and that's not even factoring in Yellow's much higher (and better) level curve. FRLG were almost insultingly easy for people who had played the originals (especially Yellow).

And, the new locations would've been better if they had actually fleshed them out properly instead of using them as a repository for underleveled Gen 2 Pokémon that should've been in the Kanto Dex.

Sorry to hear that. :( It's a shame that ORAS excluded so much from Emerald (and won't even bring it back via DLC), but there's not much you can do about it, now. At this rate, it will probably be almost 20 years before the Gen 6 games come up for remakes, and even then, the focus will be on Kalos, not Hoenn.

It's nowhere near the same as a remake, but you can check out this ROM hack for the time being. It's basically original Emerald with modern additions like the P/S split and Fairy types. I'm sure there's other hacks you can look into if you search for them.
Well, now, you know how I feel as a Yellow fan. ;)

I think the Third Versions could eventually get remade, although it *will* be a long wait, especially for Emerald. (Platinum, at least, can still be played on the current handheld.) They'd have to do Yellow and Crystal first before they can even get to your two favorites, and right now, Yellow's the only one that truly needs it (as Gen 1 can't be played on the 3DS at all).

At, least you've got a pretty good set of remakes in ORAS, though. Poor Gen 1 was cursed with, well... not-so-good remakes...
It's WAY too soon to be talking about XY remakes, LOL. To be honest, I could care less about what Z does as I have zero interest or investment in Kalos--boring region, boring characters, boring story, IMO.

Neither DP or Emerald will happen next. The former are still too recent, while the latter is mostly pointless. (And, should probably be saved for Gen 3's next remakes years down the road.)

Gen 1 is the next to be remade. Haters can hate all they want, but the games are very outdated and deserve their chance in the spotlight.
