Item cloning requires two 3DSs and a little luck, unfortunately. I have one 3DS.

I was trying to make deals, and people weren't biting at the forum I was new at...then someone noticed I was offering to clone. Door unlocked, I was like "GIMME!"

Still had to do some negotiating, but not as much since cloning the one he had was involved. In the end, he mentioned looking for a Shiny Cresselia; I poked RNC and said, "You got that?" Five minutes later, I was trading in the Jirachi, and an hour later (more like 37 minutes), the cloning was complete and I was sending them all back to the trader.

I only heard about a Smash Bros. tournament at Gamescon. I doubt they'll reveal a new character during the tournament unless Sakurai tweets about it, which he does whenever a character reveal is present in an upcoming event.
