Those people will get offended if you coin them as Chinese Pop. {XD} I saw lotta non-Chinese getting bash on YouTube, because of merging them as one. lol You can categorize them as Chinese songs, but better not add the word 'Pop', after Chinese. ;)

More like K-Pop stole J-Pop's spotlight.:( And I dislike K-Pop as much as C-Pop. :/ The melodies of Canto-Pop are not bad, but Cantonese just doesn't sound right -- sounds too stiff for me... I'm fine with Mandarin songs tho. :)

I was a fan of J-Pop back in 2006, Leah Dizon, Yamapi, Exile, Hyde... They were my poop back in the days. Some disappeared, some sank.
J-Pop still have a spot inside tho, recently Kyary Pom Pom's my latest fav from Japan. Her MVs are kind of Lady Gaga-ish in a very sweet way with vibrant colors, songs are very modern pop.

Basically in my opinion, he is no different than Chris Brown (well at least he didn't hit Rih). They just love to bang all day and night. lol Their music are not bad, but not as entertaining like their tabloid. :/
