  • I've often been staying up that late anyway, so it won't be much of an issue. As a member who is dedicated to the Sun & Moon section I have to keep up-to-date.
    Sure, why not? XD

You might also wanna participate International Challenge June with Ryoko! ^_^
Spinda, can we trade right now? (:
I'll be on PSS with my Alpha Sapphire and my ign is Anna!
Synchro evolution? Is that a new official term I missed or a fanmade term?
Spinda, that new dog Pokemon... Hmm it looks like a cross between a Linoone and a Poochyena. XD Having said that, it's cute. (: I'm guessing it's gonna be the Alola region's Lillipup line?
I hate you, I mean I don't have the time to read the Chap. 4 yet and you're renewing it already!! XD

Listen: Ryoko is reborn today! Yeah, using that name again since the Bagon's a she again, haha! :D Ryoko has the following IV spread 31/31/30/31/31/31. Both 31 and 30 are perfect IVs, don't worry about the 30.

All I need to do is EV train! I believe the EV combinations are the same as the one before (92 Atk, 208 SpA, 208 Spe), right?
I'm breeding for a perfect IV Bagon, which requires endless breeding until I get the perfect one. I think I placed Ryoko along the ones that need to be released... I just can't find her, ugh. I swear this clumsy side of me is going to kill me someday. @_@ But dw, I'm breeding so... We should be able to get perfect one this week, hopefully.
Yeah, the end result turned out a bit Mario-esque, LOL, but looking at her official art, it really seems that she was intended to be based on RBY Red. (Why else would she have the exact same pose as him?)

As I said, it seems that HGSS were trying to do double duty as both GSC remakes and Yellow remakes. Like, the following Pokémon feature:

Or, the layout of Cerulean Cave:

Plus, also consider who HGSS were mostly being aimed at: Older fans who had quit the series around the time RS came out and had started getting nostalgic and back into Pokémon around the late 00s. There's a very good reason why HGSS seem to mostly ignore FRLG (outside of Red's outfit) and include no remake-specific references to Gen 1 (like Green, the Sevii Islands, or Celio). The games were being aimed towards an audience that mostly skipped FRLG and whose Gen 1 memories were limited to the originals.
Very true, although some of the girls have still fallen victim to the Red Knockoff Virus:

    [IMG][IMG]

Bet you didn't realize that Lyra was supposed to be a female version of RBY Red, huh? [IMG] Same color scheme, same black undershirt, same collar, same official art pose.

Combine that with the following Pokémon and the Cerulean Cave layout, and it makes it seem even more like HGSS were trying to be the Yellow remakes that FRLG failed to be. Wonder if that might've been why Kris was cut--GF wanted the games to have a protagonist inspired by Red's original design, and redesigning Gold would've been too awkward and obvious.
Oh, I actually forgot about Platinum Lucas!

He's actually where the "Hilbert Template" began! o_O He's got the blue shirt, red cap, and everything. So, thus, it's been a full decade now since we last had a non-remake male protagonist that wasn't in a blue shirt (aka. DP Lucas). What the hell, GF? :rolleyes2:

    ...

I've also noticed somewhat of a formula with the female PCs. The ones wearing shorts all have their hair in ponytails (or have it short, like May and the SM Girl):

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

But, the ones wearing skirts all wear their hair long and down (with Green and Serena even both having wide-brimmed hats):

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Also, note that the two gens that lacked remakes (Gens 2 and 5) were the only two gens that had no skirted female PCs. Gen 3 had a new girl in shorts (May) and a remake girl in a skirt (Green), while Gens 4 and 6 had new girls in skirts (Dawn, Serena) and remake girls in shorts (Lyra, May).
Only Lucas did to an extent. Gold and Brendan hardly resemble Red.

Now, Hilbert is an obvious Red knockoff, and Nate, Calem, and "Hilnatlem" are all obvious Hilbert knockoffs. How many more dark-haired guys dressed in blue do we need?

It makes me wish even more that this fake Sun/Moon PC had been real:

    Calem.
It's ridiculous how much they keep on recycling the Hilbert template for the male PCs. First Nate, then Calem, and now the new guy (who should be called "Hilnatlem").

Remember when the male PCs used to look distinct from each other?

    [IMG][IMG]

As for the girl, she should be called "Maydan," as she's pretty much May with Brendan's hair color and a red version of his glove-shaped hat. Very transparent throwback to Masuda's first two player characters, there.

What makes it worse is that we just HAD Hoenn remakes, so you would've thought that Gen 3 nostalgia would've run its course by now. Why do we need a new wannabe Hoenn when we had just seen the real thing in the very last games?

Of course, I would've much rather seen Kalos get closure than either a Kanto/Johto or a Hoenn/Sinnoh throwback. XY sequels centered around Zygarde would've been great. They could've just brought back an expanded PWT (including the previous games' E4 members in addition to gym leaders and champions) to celebrate the 20th anniversary.
To be honest, a lot of this seems to be about Masuda wanting to pay homage to the games HE directed rather than the 20th Anniversary of the franchise.

First off, we have a tropical, water-logged region that's isolated from all the other regions:

And, legendary mascots (with connections to space) that are part-Steel and part-Ghost (with a likely part-Water one as the third):

And, then we have the protagonists:

Recognize the boy? You should, seeing as we already played as him three times in a row:

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

And, the girl looks fairly familiar, too:

    [IMG][IMG]

Seriously, the SM girl looks exactly like she could be the child of those two. o_O

We'll also have a cute, blonde female professor's assistant acting as a pseudo-rival to the protagonist:

    [IMG][IMG]

And, while not confirmed, the Sun/Moon theme easily lends itself to an Endless Day vs Endless Night plot centered around dueling evil teams. Hmmm...

    ...

Yeah, methinks that Sun and Moon are going to be the ultimate love letter to Hoenn/Sinnoh/Unova. (I'd also say Kalos, but it seems that GF would rather say f-you to it and its legendaries.) Even though these are supposed to be the big 20th anniversary games, there isn't going to be much in the way of Kanto/Johto nostalgia there. Masuda didn't direct those games, and those fans are all at the ripe old age of 25-30 now, anyways, so who cares, amirite? They should be lucky they're even getting RBY on the VC. :rolleyes2:

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed with everything I've heard about SM so far. :P
Just kill me... (Don't worry not sad or feeling negative)
I feel like a loser for accidentally releasing Ryoko last Tuesday, so I've been trying to breed one with a perfect IV + HA Ability... Ugh... Please wait a liiiiiilll more longer. I guess I'm the biggest Spinda right here. Ugh.
Didn't they say that about may too, I mean I guess we got the second clip of a dog/deer pokemon.
Ugh, Steel/Ghost/Water... Where have we seen that before?

    :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2:

Seriously, I'm going to scream if these games are nothing more than a knockoff of RSE's region and plot using knockoffs of DPP's legendaries.
So, Solgaleo and Lunala are Psychic/Steel and Psychic/Ghost, respectively. You know, because there aren't enough Psychic legendaries in the games. :rolleyes2:

Still not sure whether or not this is better or worse than Dragon. Why is it so hard for GF to mix it up with the legendaries? What is poor Poison going to have to do to get even ONE legendary?
    Admittedly, I tend to gravitate towards mostly females, especially if I'm playing as a male character (think GS, for example). I'm completely willing to reset a million times for a female starter or Eevee. {XD}
