Alright, I understand his difficulties. I also understand that since you're his friend, you want to help him in any way you can. However, I myself have gone through tough times and have had heavy criticism cast upon my previous works. It's not that anyone doesn't believe him, it's the fact that he seemed like he needed to do more research and study the basic elements that go into game development. When people post threads that really have no supplemental support, it is a tell-tale sign that said individual whom started the thread is either inexperienced or has no business posting a thread in the first place. I do not believe him to be the latter, but his is surely inexperienced.
When I first wanted to start making games using RMXP or any games in general, I had to learn basic Ruby/RGSS. This took me several weeks of absorbing information online, whilst practicing on my own. Even today, I am not what you'd call a "seasoned" scripter/programmer. I still have much learning to accomplish.
What I'm getting at is, he should really spend some time using his resources (main one being the internet) to learn game scripting/programming if he is really and truly dedicated to game development.
