  • Actually, now that I go trough many other forums, I begin to realize how lucky we are to have Astinus. It seems like not many mods are willing to smack spammers and other rule-breakers (one-liners! bad quality! bright colours! font! aagh!) like she is. Yay for Astinus on this one! Maybe we should present her with a golden whip or something of the like. "Golden Mod-stick of the Doom". Oh dear heavens, I somehow managed to misspell "like" to "lick". Lucky I spotted it before I posted this...
A thousand babies, huh... This book was more like the type to make you want to beat puppies to death with a brick and a metal pipe. It had this boarding school where high school boys would tease the younger boys, because it was admitted. They'd use bucketfulls of crap, red-lead, boiling water, freezing water, their authority and their fists in the progress. Oh, and the dad of the protagonist was a crazy sadist. 'Nuff said.

I felt really happy a moment ago because I found three new places to look from. It took me about ten minutes to realize what a pain it is to look from so many places, even more so because I can't find any even remotely mod-ish person from one of the forums. Oh, and you shouldn't forget ffnet. *sigh* But every bad fic I find just boosts my will to do this damn thing, however troublesome and nerve-breaking it might be!

*lifts an eyebrow* So, I'd assume you're having fun. Ekeshum and Bamachi, huh. (Man, I love that spying feature that shows people's current activity  ) That's gotta be one intelligent and sensible conversation!
You know, this is really going to be a pain in the ass. I'm just so sure the result will be worth all this searching and thinking and planning and reviewing and whatnot that it doesn't really bother me that much. Besides, right now I'm having a peaceful time at school so I have nothing better to do. And I really like chatting to you guys

Although, I should be writing a stupid book review about a book I didn't want to read in the first place. It kind of fits this archive-planning-thing and all, but I really don't feel like doing it. I don't know if I have enough good stuff to say about that book when all anyone ever did in it was to tease and beat up other people. :\
Readability probably is the easiest one to define. The scale must have something about characters, but how do you define a good character? Although, you could adjust the plot criteria to fit with the characters. You know, originality and existence of holes of the character  All right, maybe I'll just let you do it the way you see fit and stop spamming you.
Hmm... It's afternoon there, isn't it?
Aww, man, you don't have any school tomorrow and I have, what, school from 8 AM to 3 PM and then my Japanese lesson from 5.30 PM to 7 PM...
Haha, I'm eating chocolate and taffy on the moment. They go really well together, and with reading
Good luck on that scale. It's not an easy job, I believe, as there are many things that have to be taken into consideration. I wouldn't know how to make a decent scale for rating plots, for one.
GH is one of those games that easily suck you in and make you forget about the time. Many "simple" games are like that, like, say, teris or something of the like. I once played tetris for something like nine hours straight, because I couldn't stop anymore... I was eight at the time. After that, it took me six years to play the damn game again  And I've noticed that by boyfriend can play GH for hours. It doesn't last that long when it's about me, because I can't even get trough a song on expert, as my fingers are a wee bit too short to reach the orange button. Moreover, I once broke my pinky finger and the lower joint in it is a bit stiff. It's a wonder I can even play the clarinette...

Gosh, you're giving me an uncontrollable urge to play Guitar Hero, even though I literally suck at the game. It's still a good game... But we don't own it, only a friend of my boyfriend's does and he lives in a different city. Drats!

And I thought Xanthine was a guy, too... But that misbelief didn't last me long. That avatar was very fooling!

I should start doing something useful now...
I suck at Guitar Hero. I have too short fingers for that and for real guitar (but that's just a lame excuse for always losing to my boyfriend in the damn game).

    Have a good game!

Oh, and the funniest part of that one was that they kept on calling her a "he". Oh, that girl just cracks me up!
Yeah, and they don't teach how to use commas in English at school. And, I noticed, a lot of my comma mistakes are there because if you'd use them that way while writing Finnish, you'd be eternally banned from school.

I'll make the corrections on that chapter. Thanks a lot for reviewing it. The more text, the better review... Also, thanks for the praise you gave me  My main goal in this life is to make people laugh by what I write, so I'm happy that I have succeeded a bit. Darn those commas, though.

I also found something possibly even more random where she told she got sad because of Xanthine's review and someone even encouraged her to overlook the review, but I lost that one already so no link :<
Should I PM it to you, then? Have you read the previous chapters?
Remember, you really don't have to...
Wow, you really know something about Finland? I'm impressed! I haven't met many people online who'd know stuff about Finland, really. Some don't even know it is in Europe. Do you know anything else?

What comes to that question, I don't really listen to metal that much. Actually, the point is that I listen to anything I happen to hear or find. I have the most diverse playlist in my Winamp: everything from pop to heavy to classical music. The genres I like the most would be classical, jazz and heavy-ish rock. I once downloaded some metal from a site where beginning bands can put their songs to be downloaded and I liked those, but I haven't listened to the bands you mentioned a lot.

By the way, are you very busy on the moment? I think I should put up the next chapter of my fic soon. You want to read it first or should I just post it as it is?
I read the first paragraph and laughed out loud. lol, you nailed it! All right, maybe I should read the whole thing...
The last review for your parody fic has got to be the greatest thing I have ever seen. I actually laughed out loud when I saw that. It's just... <3
First off, I only took one look at the title of your new fic, and I've determined that I love you and that you win an internet. Unfortunately, I should be doing more productive things tonight, so I'll have to leave a review later.

Too many of these writers feel like people should be kissing the ground they walk on. It is rather annoying, and I intend to stomp on their parade (AKA give them an honest review) so they don't think this anymore.

Oh yes. And it's always fun to do it. Especially when the author promptly responds with wank... before more people join in to tell them that, yeah, nobody is a special snowflake.

I, too, looked at this Ekeshum girl's new stories, and that spoof of the Little Red Hen was just ridiculous. Not only has she written three(?) fictions that all have the same setting and the same essential plot, but she has taken an existing story and just made it Pokemon-ish.

Not to mention just as illogical as her romance fics, from what I've gathered on a brief glance.

I can't understand how people can praise her for her "originality" when she either recycles the same plot or using another authors material.

Most likely ignorance towards the original source -- as in, her ass-kissing reviewers don't realize it's not actually original. I've seen it happen before. In fact, I'm sure every person in this fandom has. Oh, reviews to every single OT story ever. (Seriously, don't they all essentially follow the same plot, with the same elements in each?)

I did start to review one, but I felt a little overwhelmed at first, as I could see many technical errors after only a quick skim. I think I might try my hand at it again tonight...

    Good luck!
I have no idea why it took me forever to respond to you. Sorry about that.

I've pretty much given up on reviewing myself because of the discouraging amount of new writers who only want praise when they kind of need criticism. That, and the fact that I honestly just can't be arsed to sit down and review these days, even though I have the time. There are times when I want to actually review a story, but I always make some excuse not to. I'm afraid my interest in fics as a whole has dropped, since I haven't focused on a fic for a long while. XD

And the new sticky, which is now merged with the rules thread, has worked. I noticed a definite change in the quality of reviews in that section, meaning that the general quality of the entire section has risen. And I try to do my best to make sure that everything works out in PFF.
Yeah, I understand the jerk feeling. I was sort of deterred from leaving anything more than a general review for authors because of that feeling. =\

Yeah, I just do it anyway and let the guilt set in after. I figure I might as well just be frank with them to let them know that at least one person isn't going to be kissing the ground they walk on. But two? Even better!

I also wanted that writer (kinda forgot her name now) to actually take in constructive criticism instead of letting it blow through her and acting like it never happened.

*sigh* I wish she would, but looking in Other Writing, she pretty much did. I swear, her latest in there makes her Sir Aaron stuff look like they deserve Pulitzer Prizes. I'd review it, but I'd rather not give her the impression that I'm stalking her. That and she's repeating a lot of the mistakes she made with her longer works.

Hopefully I'll get over this problem I'm having so you aren't the only one leaving lengthy reviews. =\

Good luck. Maybe try your hand at some of the latest ones? There's a few that could use it.
Thanks for the "please read that long-ass review because it's actually trying to tell you something" messages you've been leaving, by the way. It's always awesome to have someone back me up so I don't feel like a jerk afterwards. XD
Thanks. The additions are responses to people telling me that there's something wrong in my section, so I just go with what I'm feeling at the time and write. Normally, I'm in a snarky mood and tend to be borderline insulting.

And yes, the newer writers are annoying, those that are. They sometimes make me want to go on some sort of murderous rampage through the world. XD; Though the entirety of PC periodically makes me feel that way sometimes.
Why is it your problem or concern? I dont care anymore, I can't take blunt criticism, its extremely aggrevating. Its over, I got it closed, just leave me alone. No more wasting my time writing stupid fan fics for people who are never happy.
