Hm, maybe for some places but not for my school yet. Tomorrow is the closing ceremony so it starts from this weekend.

I'm not on vacation yet; I leave for the US on the 30th. I'm just totally booked for the next couple weeks as the school term finishes and I have parties and events and have to pack. @@ So I'll have time to work on it again before I leave. If everything were to go perfectly, I miiiiiight have time this Sat or Sun evening to trade, but all my events have to end on time and I have to have everything haha. I'll keep you posted!

Alright. Regardless I'd like to know the date so I can put it in my records (I'm finally making a full detailed log of my Pokemon, so I want the info in there).
Okay so, I didn't realize I didn't have any Moon Balls on my SoulSilver, which is the only game I can get to Route 7 in, so I can't actually get Houndour until tomorrow. The rest of the Pokemon I should be able to catch but I've been doing things all day and haven't put time towards it, so it'll still be a bit. @@

Oh yeah, because Japanese doesn't have any singular consonants except for N. English is so different in that respect that it's pretty hard for them to learn not to. The ends of the words are the worst or kids, because when they get nervous they tend to add it on. So even if they know it's "next", they might say "nexto." I also see them have problems adding -s to words, so I tell them to stress it so they can be heard.

Ah okay. Obviously can't trade hat Pikachu on that gen, so were you planning to trade those to me on 6th and I'll send the hats on 7th, or are you moving them up? (If you are going to move them up, do me a favor and let me know the date on Psyduck before you do; Powersaved events are sneaking into my collection and I would rather avoid that, and then I can also keep a record of the dates.)

I mean it tests your reading and listening sorta, but it's all multiple choice and it has no speaking portion so it's not all that thorough. It's strange since the Japanese-made English tests have actual writing and speaking sections, so I'm not sure why the JLPT doesn't. Of course they have to use it for jobs, it's the only certified Japanese language test around really haha. Kanji is hard for Japanese people too (and is my worst skill), so I get it.
Well, anyone who learns a second language non-natively will have an accent lol. I'm used to it at this point; listening to student English for 2 years does that. It also depends; I have students that have never gone abroad and their accent isn't all that bad. I wouldn't really call their accents "funny" in the sense that I laugh at it. Most of the time they are not native accents so yeah, they're strange, but as long as it's understandable it's not a big deal. What's ACTUALLY funny is the phrases people come up with sometimes. (I do a game with my English Club where the kids have to try to describe a word, and once a kid was trying to describe "bull" and another kid knew what it was but didn't know the English word so she said "fighting beef." I laughed so hard, it's my favorite phrase of all time!)

It's pretty standard for ALTs working in high school, I think. The English teachers usually have to be able to actually speak English in order to teach it at that level. (At least for academic schools; agricultural or tech schools maybe not so much, though even the teacher I had that was transferred from those schools could talk with me, albeit poorly.) JLPt doesn't really tell you how good you are at real Japanese lol. Maybe for listening, but even those questions are pretty structured and not as realistic until higher levels. It has no speaking portion so it definitely doesn't tell you about that. I rarely understand all of what my teachers say in Japanese, it's more like getting a general idea and then responding based on that haha. Again, I do know some people who speak either Shimokita dialect or one of the others in the prefecture, but they don't use it for conversation at work (or not often). In my first year I went to a festival and had dinner with a family of locals and they ALL spoke the dialect. Yeah, that I understood none of. @w@

That's cute. You obviously haven't talked with a not of newbies. Most of them know nothing and are incredibly non-receptive to new information. They also usually don't care about hacks and THAT is a nightmare in and of itself.
Yeah, I live in a city but it's not big (the area is but it's only about 60,000 people). Well first off, I don't usually use Japanese at work; all of the people I work with are English teachers and have good English so we just speak in that. As for daily life, all the service workers have to use the same like, "standard" dialect (kinda like how you use Business English in a company), so I understand them fine. The dialect up here is Shimokita dialect, which basically only the older people speak constantly. I think Japanese people grow up learning the "standard" dialect and speak that most of the time? I actually barely hear anyone speaking a dialect, or if they do they don't at work and certainly don't speak it to me.

That's fine! Even though I said I'd like more, upon looking at the list there's not much else that I don't already have. Cool! I'm thinking I might have some trade time on Mon at my usual evening times, if you can get them cloned by then, but if not no rush! That would just be the only time I can manage until the 26th.

Sorry. I've talked about how hard they are to get over and over, and I see my events are some of the few in rotation. That being said, the only other things I'm interested in is Masuda's Psyduck, do if it's alright let's do the Crown beasts and that Psyduck for the Pikas! (I still need to get a hold of a Sinnoh hat one though.)

Don't feel bad! It's just a tough time of year for me, since I have a lot I have to do. I'm mostly hesitant on Monday because I need to trade with other people, and if they can't all make Monday then I have to try and make other days work and I don't want to do too much of that. Let me talk with some others and see if I can get something settled for then.

Hmm, well, if you'll get them cloned before trading them over that's fine. Yes, turns out I have a work event this Wed evening so I won't be able to trade then after all. @@ I guess I could do stuff Mon night if you are really in a rush, otherwise the following Wed would be better.

I'm not really comfortable with that. If I can't find time to trade with you when I get Marshadow it's going to be about a month before I can trade again, and I'd rather not leave you hanging that long.
