I got a neat idea for Omega Ruby.

I picked up a surskit and boxed my starter. Going to try playing with oddball pokemon. Like Tropious, Delcatty, etc.

I had no idea Discord let me track playtime for games.

This feature is so useful. I'm definitely going to leave it on in the background for this purpose. This is something I wish consoles would build in.

It's okay. I've been very sick for the last few days too. Starting to suspect I might have gotten covid at the show. Been dealing with night sweats, heavy shivering, battered throat, sinus headaches, bad coughing, and some nauseousness. You aren't alone with this. Hopefully we can both see some improvement. Best of luck getting into the sessions too. I hope they help out.

Which game do you hunt the Shiny Shaymin in? I think BDSP may have had some of the those but I thought those were temporary events.

I recall one time in school I failed to find a partner for a science project, so I sat alone at a table. A girl yells loudly across the room "Oh my god, why is he so anti-social"? It was insensitive and uncalled for. Probably one of the most hurtful moments too, as I was already self critical about this kind of thing. The teacher did stand up for me though.

Do you mean 10 minutes to find a shiny or 10 minutes before you lose focus? I guess if you have the ability to multitask it would be much easier. I imagine the hardest would be resetting for starters, because you don't have any of the extra helpful tools at the start of a file.

It was a terrible school. I didn't get bullied much (although it did happen, it wasn't the main issue) but the staff was awfully abusive. I have many stories. Although I won't delve into them, I will mentioned that my 7th grade history was arrested for pedophilia. Another teacher was openly perverted and never got into trouble. (despite us being 12-13). I think he still works there too. We all complained. Nothing was done.

Thank you, I really did enjoy myself. It was so, so incredibly loud. Yet I was able to embrace it and be a part of the crowd too. Being caught up in the moment, it felt easy to let loose. They had fireworks and pyrotechnics, which I think did end up being too loud and hurt my ears. Fireworks had been mostly after they announced going live on TV. After that they settled down.

I was poking around today and found an old middleschool yearbook. It didn't make me nostalgic, but really strange because I hadn't seen those teachers in years and it was weird looking at faces I stored in memory. I didn't like those years of school at all...hence, no nostalgia.

I never had the patience for shiny hunting, but I have seen you post about it I think? Honestly it's admirable because I can't do it for longer than 10 minutes. I know there are methods that ease it now, but I know at one time shiny hunters had to run around dealing with 1/8192 chance.

I'm beyond excited. It's going to be such a fun day today. I didn't even sleep much, out of sheer joy for it. (it's 5:50 AM aha)

Interesting! The only time i really had interest in GO was never, (i'm a mainline boi lol) but i remember the huge craze GO had when it was in its infancy before Mewtwo existed. Now it's got a ton of stuff, supposedly!

And yeah, shining Venipede is a pretty nice shade of brown, but then you get to Scolipede and it's a really cool neon red and cyan. How that color change happened, i do not know, but i'm happy it became a thing!

I completely forgot about GO's existence lol. I heard they added new pokemon but shiny hunting? That's a thing?

Shiny update, after 1009 encounters i just now get a Shiny Venipede WHICH IS WHAT I WANTED YES!

Yeah, it's a huge improvement on an already great game. The Venipede line is cool and epic but hasn't really been viable much. I mean, Bug/Poison is a combo of two of the most useless types in all of Pokemon in terms of good coverage pre Gen 6, so...

But at least Scolipede got Speed Boost in Gen 6 onward!

Yeah, i guess that's a bit of a dilemma. As of now i'm trying to hunt for a Route 20 shiny in Blaze Black 2 Redux, since shiny odds have been increased to 1/512 to match the modern titles. (if you've heard of it, if not, i can tell you about it)

Vanillite is catchable in the wintertime and i'm really aiming for that, but there are some pokemon i'd like to get. Mainly shiny Venipede. I already got a Shiny Budew at 543 encounters and i'm on the warpath for another 'mon!

My reason for picking X/Y would be variety. I remember the games being very strong in this regard. Apparently the wondertrading back there is super hacked right now, and people are tossing shinies all over it. And you are absolutely right about movesets being poor in older generations. On top of that, HM's like Cut being forced and taking up a slot.

Did I tell you that I'm seeing a televised WWE show live on Monday? It's going to be so fun, and it's been a childhood dream of mine to be able to be in the audience for one of these. I'm so excited!

I think next time I'll play through X or Y. I only played X once and that was a few years ago. Do you have any fun monotype ideas?

It was a crazy few years for my family. My dad was drinking heavily and gave up his health. He passed away in his 40's. My mother (who had been stay at home) had to find employment after his death. I never saw her touch such any sort of alcoholic drink. As a result, I've grown up with no interest in drinking too. We are doing much better now however.

Dragon Quest 11 was the first game with that kind of art style. Every game before that was pixel art. I never thought of it so much as DBZ but thought it represented a storybook. Also it's worth noting that Dragon Quest never changes and every game follows a strict formula. Even music and sound effects are carried over. DQ11 is still using the same victory sound effect as Dragon Quest 1 from 1986.

I feel like playing Gen 5 again. Pokemon Black/White released when I was 10 years old. I didn't grow up with them because my family had some hardships and couldn't afford many games. When I was Christmas shopping in a mall during 2019, I stopped at a GameStop and got myself a copy of White for $25 dollars. I still have it too. Actually felt bittersweet. I had fun playing it, but felt like I had missed out.

I do love Dragon Quest, but if you ever get into it, keep in mind these games are not extravagant. The entire appeal is an extremely simple turn based game that most companies don't bother with anymore. It's even simpler than Pokemon. (Although has better storylines).

I'm not sure if you saw it, but that topic I made for 10k posts was going to be my last one. I considered it a nice post to wrap up my time here and silently make my exit. Although due to special friendships I have made with those such as you, I will stick around. You guys always brighten my evenings.

Not related...but I noticed the Pokemon "Cofagrigus" gets tossed into the pokecommunity censor filter. Unsure if this was done on purpose. I thought it was kind of amusing because GameFreak had the same oversight and it blocked people from trading on GTS.

I'm not sure if Legends would be considered a spin-off, which is why I asked. Not sure if I'm getting these new pokemon games on release though. Going to wait for news on Dragon Quest 12 or the Dragon Quest 3 remake. I'm still a bit more invested in that franchise.

I've also been playing Xenoblade 3 some more and I will take back what I said.

Seems Chapters 1 and 2 just focused on story strictly hence being short, but Chapter 3 opened up a ton of stuff.
