Again, Sakurai will not include an Animal Crossing rep because of his claim, and he's not going to change his mind. It sounds like you seem to disagree with his ways of choosing a character.

It'll mess with the continuity in the Mario universe like they did with the Baby Mario characters, Metal Mario, and Dry Bowser. All Mario games, including spin-offs, take place within the same universe/timeline, and two versions of the same character co-existing would only cause a time paradox, which is my pet peeve in fighting/sports games.

Sakurai has already said that there will be no Animal Crossing rep because they were too peaceful to fight. I always wonder if the speculators have ever done any research before making their wishlists/prediction.

The reason Toon Link got away with it is because he's canonically not the same Link from Brawl, who was his TP incarnation, unlike Young Link, who is the same Link from OoT in Melee.

I never understand why people list characters, who are either too peaceful to fight (Animal Crossing), not a Japanese third-party character (Rayman), not a video game character (Goku), alternate character formes who will cause a time paradox if they co-exist with its original forme (Paper Mario), or characters who do meet the requirements to be playable (Gooey), in SSB. These characters drive me nuts and make me want to respond to them on why it'll never never happen because of the rules Sakurai has placed.

Yeah, so like after a couple hundred years some leader of a Jewish sect goes "yup God just told me that we don't have to do any of that old stuff anymore". It's absolutely bonkers! Like politicians do it all the time, for the reason that they are politicians. And it is most likely religious orthodoxy was changed for similar reasons, but religion being what it is, nobody would want to look at it that way.

Yeah, that's what I meant, too. This kind of stuff should be kept to oneself since it does no good to advertise it using media or social networking sites i.e. FB, Twitter. You can hate Jews. You can hate Romanians. You can hate whoever you want for whatever silly tidbit [ignorant] reason. You just don't have the right to proclaim that hatred nationally, because that's wrong. That's including not using the Internet to incite or publish that hatred (blogs, Twitter) or going on TV, going into public "preaching" like those dudes in Assassin's Creed. That's where the line is crossed, because the intention is to target and bash the group at-hand, which infringes on their rights overall.

Local multiplayer still exists in fighting games, as well as online multiplayer.

Where exactly do fighting games have in place about the argument of companies focusing more on multiplayer than single player camepaigns?

I've been hammering him with that question since the last page. I'm suprised that, as strong as his beliefs are, he is having such a issue giving a straight yes or no answer to it.
