I ♥♥♥♥ing LOVE Katsura. More than any other character apart from Gin and Kagura. Katsura is my third fave Gintama character. :3 Simply love him for his obliviousness and fooolishness and also the fact that he's just so adorable. Would probably say 'Adorable janai, Katsura-da!' to that haha. Oh, and fun fact! Guess what real life Katsura's wife's name was? Ikumatsu! :'DDD

OOOO you're right! I didn't really read the parts that were animated so I never knew. But all things said and done, Gintama is one of the best manga adaptations I've ever seen. Soooooo good. ;;

Also yes. Continuity is important here. Characters grow old, have kids and come back again and again. This is a show which spans generations - you'll need to know previous generations to enjoy it fully. So yes, you need to watch previous parts. Also, part 1 was underwhelming but I don't think I'd enjoy part 2 as much had I not seen part 1.

People do say all parts are mostly self contained story. But I beg to differ. So many characters that reappear and all ;;

Sugita + this downright AMAZING opening makes me really excited for season 2 though. :p

I'll actually get back to you when it comes to JoJo in a few days. Series, so far, is composed of 2012's anime and the new one. 2012 one had part 1 with 9 episodes and part 2 with 17 episodes. New anime is Part 3. I finished part 1 but it was mostly VERY underwhelming. 7/9 episodes were meh. I liked the last two episodes, though! BUT I can't recommend the series now. I need to finish part 2 at least before telling you to watch it. Though to be fair even huuuuge fans say part 1 wasn't that good. It is from part 2 that things get good.

Also part 2's protagonist is Sugita. :3
