About the program to trade from second to third gen, it does exist (or at least used to), and what it would do is create a new poke in one save file that had exactly the same stats, moves, etc. and edit out the data for that poke in the other save. You obviously couldn't trade a 3rd gen pokemon to second, and the location would be messed up, but it was still a nice program. It required the user to have software and cables which could dump and load saves onto carts, and also required both carts to be either Japanese or North American. It was called something like PokemonTradeR. I no longer have a copy since I got a new comp since then, but it was buggey as hell, had a horrible interface, and was all in Japanese, but it worked for me, although it was probably more work than it was worth. If you can find a copy, great, but if you can't, don't worry about it, I happed across it on some forum, and haven't been able to dig it up since. Sorry I couldn't be of more help...
