About the WFC..... So I have a quick question: Does the WFC support random wifi battles similiar to Mario Kart DS or can we only play people with shared friend codes?

I suppose that would depend on the features and quality of the starter kit. If there is a cbs, menu, trainercard etc. then definitely, yes.
