As writers, do you proofread after or during your writing?

I proofread always. Like a ninja.
...That makes sense. It just takes a bit.

Take any of your characters and think about their voice. What do they sound like? How would you describe it?

All characters have the voice of Ken Ichijouji(sp? too lazy to look it up atm) All of them.

Can you write something sad? On that note, is it possible to write something that would make anyone cry (even the supposedly tough ones)? How would you go about doing it? Do you have any examples of fics that have made you cry?

Don't get me wrong. I was more so saying that people doesn't give the other fan fiction that doesn't have Badge Collection/Ribbon Collection a chance. :D I agree there are plenty of good badge collecting with a great plot. I was saying that people put that as a requirement when writing a OT fan fiction. In all honesty, I'm not against writing badge/ribbon collecting. But try to give people a chance that doesn't have it in there, just using the pokemon region as a basis.

I think I did not write it clearly enough in my last post however. There are people that write just about the badge collection, no plot what-so-ever between it. If badge collecting is your character's passion, I'm fine with it. Just have a back story behind your character, that is what I am trying to say.

Remember, I'm not against badge collecting. A friend of mine is writing a fan fiction with badge collecting, ribbon collecting, and ranger duties all in one fan fiction with three different characters. I love her story to death.
Okay then. I give every fic a chance, whether badge collecting or not. The thing is though in other places I go too, it's the other way around: don't put badge collecting in your OT fic. O.o

    Where's Citty! ;_;

I'm pretty sure he isn't grounded, as he has said before that he doesn't usually get grounded. And he is back to school... So not sure.

Really. Wow. From where that I have come from, it's taboo not to have badge collecting because you're contorting the universe. lol.

I agree. :( Where is Citrinin? I've been kind of worried.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen Hector around for a while either. :/

And if he was grounded, he'd still be on at school.

Thirded, where is Citrinin anyway? Do you think he's ill? I hope it's not something serious. D:

Hi, guys, I've got a quick question.

So I've got a character for a story in planning (of which I have far too many). His name is Álmos (don't ask, it's Hungarian). Chances are, someone will be stuttering his name some time in the fic. Notice how there's an accent over the first letter of his name? My question is, should I repeat that accent when someone happens to be stuttering his name? As in "Á-Álmos" as opposed to "A-Álmos". Sounds very strange, I know, but I just noticed this today and was wondering what to do about it. (By the way, Álmos is pronounced almost exactly like 'Alamos' sans the A and with an -sh at the end.)

If the 'Á' sounds different to a normal 'A', then yes, I'd keep the accent. If not, I'd . . . actually, I'd still use it. It looks unbalanced without it.

Yes, the Á is pronounced almost like an O. Says Behind The Name, it's pronounced AHL-mosh... which, now that I think about it, isn't very similar to 'Alamos' at all. Oops.

I think you shouldn't keep the accent because if the person was struggling to pronounce it, he would go for the phonetic sound first.

    ["A-a-Á-Álmos is it?"said the person.]

    New bolded topic. XD

What do you think is your greatest aspect in writing? Creativity, grammar, or some other thing?

What do you think is your greatest aspect in writing?

Clarity. Because in the end, that's what it all comes down to, doesn't it? Well, I think it does anyway. :3

EDIT: oh, MY greatest aspect. I read that as, like, what do you think the most important aspect of writing is.

Hum, I dunno really. I am clear sometimes (I think) but it really depends. I'd have to think more on that one. o_o

What do you think is your greatest aspect in writing?

Creating the mood. Either a mysterious one, a sad one etc. I also like doing it. Really sets things up. :D

What do you think is your greatest aspect in writing?

Appropriate levels of description for the scene at hand, and an ability to create believable personalities and back-stories. But that's just me talking.

The question is kind of misleading... o_o
But I think its my habit of creating background stories for characters. I think that a character without a background story covering its experiences might make the character sound randomized and not very credible.

And, about the Álmos question, maybe keeping it without the accent, as Mizan suggested, leaving it "A-Álmos"? I'd say the "A-" part should perhaps be "Ál-" in case you want to keep the accent. Then again I'm terrible at these.:\

I'd like too see a fanfic about someone else's version of the show.
Wait what? Are you talking about an OT fic? Or, did I miss something.

The question is kind of misleading... o_o
    How?

What do you think is your greatest aspect in writing?
Not bragging or anything but I think it's my creativity. That has to be my strongest aspect relative to my grammar, punctuation and characterization. Creativity is useless however, if you can phrase a sentence properly which is why I'm working to bettering my grammar.
