  • Ikr?? I blame my As-rock board, lol, It's worth the extra 600mhz -wary- Even then it's a bit unstable xD
I went ahead with it. Smooth, for the most part. I'm going to look into tweaking it. Maybe it has something to do with Aero. I dunno.

As for the supply, my mum got her income tax, so if I can pester her enough, maybe. ^^
What I meant by that is my aunt bought it and installed it on her computer but she didn't like it. So she installed Vista on it and offered to give it to me.
Should I upgrade to 7? This machine runs XP well, and if I remember correctly, it ran 7 okay, but I think it performed better with XP. The install's getting a tad stale and I don't feel like driver hunting. :P What do you think?
Actually, that reminded me of the summer of 2009, when I went to China. A lot of foreign-company stuff there (e.g. cars, some electronics) is actually pretty expensive, sometimes more expensive than in North America even if you factor in the exchange rate. What you're saying is definitely true, where Asian-made products are first shipped to the U.S., and then shipped to where they're going to be sold.

Of course, in Australia, your incomes by exchange rate might make up for higher prices. For example, Australian GDP per capita by exchange rate is over US$54,000, but by purchasing power it's more like US40,000, which is still pretty high. Most of China obviously isn't that rich, so imagine how much Chinese people would complain about price differences. One of the main reasons why there's still a lot of knockoffs/piracy in China, and many other developing countries.
Well, you really never know. Back when the games were $45 at GameStop, one person I talked to actually didn't know that there were places selling it for cheaper, despite the fact that the only "participating retailer" selling it that expensive was GameStop.

Still, I think something's clearly wrong/unfair with the pricing given to different regions.
Well, I did just have the SP1, so that might be why. But it was running on a fairly up-to-date spec laptop, so I can't think of any reasons why it wouldn't be working correctly...
    IOh come on! XD
I wouldn't use Vista over XP. When I had Vista, it gave me nothing but problems and it just ran EVERYTHING slowly and memory went out the window! XD
