I don't call my newer dog a puppy xD I talk to him too! :D He mostly understands things like "let's go for a walk" and "come here" only lol

I don't even have any Pokemon of value to clone and no time for egg moves. Granted when I got my Bidoofs I was handing out starters over GTS for them.
